Hookah_510
Just curious on what kind of health impact smoking hookah does for one that only smokes shisha but not cigarettes and other substances. I've seen/read articles/videos and understand the "filter" water pipes use but wanted to get some real life results from anyone who has gotten checked from a doctor. bigtoepfer
My old boss smoked every day for about 3 years (hookah). When he went to get heath and life insurance recently they asked if he smoked he said yes and they did a test on him to see how much of a risk he was. And he returned no negative results. Average if not above average lung capacity as well. Just thought I'd share

My own experience? I've never had a checkup. In fact, it's been a couple years since I've even been to a doctor. I've noticed my asthma symptoms (minor) are pretty much completely gone and also I don't get sick as often as I used to. These things are probably completely unrelated, but it's just what I've noticed about my health. I haven't had the flu this season at all, when in years past I usually get the flu atleast once, sometimes twice every season. Also, my lung capacity has seemed to have increased. boludo
I have to be careful because I get sinus infections, and hookah does not help. Other than that, no problems here.

[/quote] Yeah, the proper way to inhale is with your diaphragm, we do it naturally as babies, but we get lazy and inhale with our chest as we grow up. mattarios2
Yeah, I used to get aches in my shoulders during and not during smoking no matter what brand I smoked. Then I started inhaling with the diaphragm and the aches are 100% gone.
ghosth00k
inhaling with your diaphragm will fix everything...not really. but its much better than breathing with your chest.
