Lemonwood Coal Tips

Recommended Posts

So I bought my first bag of lemon wood coals. Its been a moderately good experience. Sometimes its amazing, sometimes its less the good. I only use one piece. Because I'm using it on a small MYA bowl. Haven't tried it with my phunnel yet. Are they supposed to last long? Because maybe its just me but they don't really seem to last all that long. I seem to recall seeing people use like 3 at once before. Just wondering if this is normal, because I've had one start to burn my bowl if it was just a little too big or a little too flat. Also what do you guys recommend as a good tool to trip the big pieces down? Because I have just been kinda picking out the pieces that seem to actually fit well

What's the brand?

From my experience on average, they are good coals.

What I like about them is that once they are lit, they will stay lit through out the session, though you need to always have an extra coal just in case the one you have on the bowl starts slacking off in terms of longevity.

I personally like the coals that have a cylindrical shape, those are beast! lol

Really? I've had problems with them going out unless there is a windcover on it... If the coals are going out on you, I'd suggest a windcover

a lounge close by uses them. i used to use them, until the local grocery started stocking cocos and i was able to put them on our grocery tab. here's the trick. use appropriately sized pieces (varies depending on head size) two to three pieces would be good for equal heat distribution and stay away from placing the coal over the center of the head until the end of the session. since the coals should be pretty cheap you can afford to have a little pile of them feeding off of each other on your tray so if the ones on your head start dying down you can switch it out for one or two on the tray and the dying ones will eventually relight. my $.02
