Tangiers And Me.

Recommended Posts

So I ordered 250g of Tangiers Guava shisha a while back, and I just don't think it's for me. I don't think I'm doing such a bad job smoking it, but after I go about half an hour my brain is throbbing; I feel wasted. Maybe it's the powerful kick Tangiers has to offer. I have no idea what it could be. Even a couple of my buddies agree that the shisha is just too strong. The smoke that I get with it, isn't really harsh at all, but there is a sign that you are inhaling smoke. Although the smoke and taste are just grand, the kick to my brain is just too much to handle. As a reference, I smoked a small phunnel bowl of Romman Grape shisha with my girlfriend today, and both me and her enjoyed it quite a lot. Maybe it IS just my smoking method. I followed a couple of tutorials, and I really play around with the coals, but it's still kicking my ass. How could so many folk like it, and how could I not? Weird stuff, eh?
:Hookah:
Any similar experiences or comments on the matter? I really feel like discussing this. Not so much a discussion of how to smoke it, but a discussion of people's experiences with Tangiers' Brain-punch.

The only thing I could think of is that you might be smoking it too fast. I used to get headaches a lot from smoking fast. I have a tendency to chain smoke the thing, so what I've learned is to either have something to eat or drink while smoking. Take breaths in between your inhales. Your brain might get oxygen deprived if you don't. Edited by thatonethere

Same thing happens to me, I chain smoke it. Good advice though, thanks.

Actually, I tend to smoke very slowly. I only smoke when I'm relaxed. My buddies actually make fun of me because I hold on to a hose for "months" because I have yet to draw on it at all. I see how that would make sense though. The problem develops after a good half an hour. after then, for about an hour I'll feel horrible and It'll lay me down.

Maybe you just havent built up a tolerance yet. I mixed tangiers with other tobacco and slowly upped up the amount so I could get used to it. I thought I was down with the crazy buzz I was hearing about, but it was too much haha. Now it's all good though, just had to get used to it slowly.

My friend who use to chain smoke Al-Fakher would LITERALLY pass out on the couch from Tangiers...It's not just you.

Its not just you because first couple of times I smoked Tangiers, it left me with a killer buzz and then a headache, and I was a pack a day cig smoker. I got used to it, just had to keep water or tea handy and made sure I was solidly full from a good meal.

Its one of those things thats different for everyone, and it may take you some time, or may have to use the mixing method that was suggested.

I kno the first time i was smoking it, i got a sweet buzz followed by a massive headache. My best advice is eat and drink and i started using less coals so i wasnt getting as much smoke on each hit.

You will get used to it. The first handful of sesh's with tangiers i would be done after 20 minutes feeling quite literally wasted. 3 years later i enjoy smoking it all the time with a pleasent mild buzz. During the first times, my friend would always recommend taking deep breathes and a carbonated drink. twas what worked for me.

Tangiers OG line is just that strong man. I get that buzz off of the first two pulls. I do take longer breaks with it, because I know the headaches that can follow. To help out but still give you that great taste try the Lucid line. It is washed and is A LOT smoother. You won't have any of the issues from that line you do from the original line. I smoke the Machasino Cherry from the lucid line and I don't have one issue. When I smoke the juicy pear from the OG line, second pull I am leaning back eyes rolled back and spinning. Just ask anyone that has laughed at me on tiny chat. I always look relaxed. Hope this helps a little bit man. Just remember SLOW is GOOD.

Its most likely that you haven't built up a tolerance to Tangiers yet. From my personal experience I haven't had that problem but I also smoke a cig or two a day. Now my friends on the other hand take a few pulls off of my bowl of straight Tangiers and they get a major buzz. So from then on whenever I packed them a bowl I mix. Last bowl I packed was a 50/50 mix of Tangiers clove and fusion mango with some raspberry sprinkled on top. It gave them a nice buzz with out their brains getting ran over by an 18 wheeler

Tangiers can do that to you sometimes. Best thing to do is not be hungry and bell hydrated. You can mix Tangiers with other shisha or split the bowl with Lucid and OG to control the buz some more. Once your tolerance builds up, you'll enjoy it alot more.
