dtbeedy
I have got a Mya Petitie a couple of weeks back and I no matter what flavor i smoke i always am left with a rubber smell and after taste. Ive probably smoked atleast every other day and after each session i thoughly clean my hookah with lemon juice. I tried using a different hose and bowl and im having no luck. Im just wondering why i cant get this flavor to go away. Any Suggestions?
Travis
Your not letting the coals touch anything are you? Other than that i cand really think of anything besides the hose, and you said you changed hoses. Try smoking a really strong flavor (mint) for a while and then see if you still get that taste. Other than that...im trumped.
Whats a KM?
first off what are you using tobacco, coals. did u wash out your hoses? Is there any chance that you washed your bowl out with soap? (if so beware that shit can give u the runs)\ I could help better if you give a little more detail.

Unless you know for sure it's a washable hose like a nammor, the "washable" stock mya hoses aren't actually washable. Like tpatt said, your coals might be touching the grommet. That could make a bad smell, but I don't think it should affect every session.
Joel
Yes, let us know what shisha and coals you are using. Could just be some crappy coals or tobacco.
dtbeedy
I havent washed my hose or used any soap. As far as coals i use cocos and i have been smoking several different brands. I dont think that it is the coals or shisha becasue when i smoke with my other hookah i have no problem. I did find that the smell is only coming from my base. all the other parts smell fine but when u smell the base all you can smell is a strong rubber smell. i tried letting the lemon juice and water set for a few hours and still no luck. [/quote] It's the grommet! Had this happen to me. On my Econo Mya Get 2 ziplock baggies. 1 - Fill with lemon juice 1 - Fill with Baking Soda. Put the grommet in the lemon juice over night. Rinse it off the next morning and dry. Then put it in the baking soda baggie all day. Wash off, dry. Put it back in the Lemon juice baggie over night one more time. Wash and use. If that doesn't work get a new grommet.
A13lackFish
Defiantly the grommet, i tend to do mixes of salt, 90-100% rubbing alcohol, hot water, and if i have it lemon juice, swash it around let it sit and hopefully the smell will be gone, otherwise id also recommend getting rid of it and getting a new grommet. Codename067
Ah, I've never experienced this problem because I always use paper towels as my grommets :] I suppose it could be the grommet, which is the only rubbery material you have! Try what Stuie suggested.
