Skoozle
Maybe try covering your heating coil with foil and replace the foil once a week? I don't currently use a heating coil to start coals so I have no idea if it will work or even start coals, but it would be a cheap easy fix if it did work. By the way, how long does a Wal-greens heating coil last for an average at home hookaher?

That coal basket used with the shishavac is pretty sweet. I've just had no luck finding anything like that we could use for coals. The burner I have at home has lasted me over a year, and I use it at least once a day.
Stuie
Well I usually use the one on my stove unless I set up outside. My stove... I replace the coil about every 8 months or so. Light several rounds of coals a night. I probably light coals on the Walgreens one, once a week, still in great shape 18 months later.

Satou
This product is cool, maybe a very modernized method to cleaning your hookah and hoses however it isn't worth the exorbitant price as it is listed. It would be more feasible for a lounge possibly but not for personal use until the price lowers significantly. I'd pay for this maybe around 30 to 40 dollars at max. S3cretz
OR you could buy a real Air compressor for that price and just run compressed air through the pipes with it. If you think about it... You dont even need a crappy filter.

atalanta
Re: preserving coils Since I have a gas stove, I'm going to use a metal screen (ie: http://www.nmclay.com/Amazing/itemdesc.asp?ic=SIL-GRATE&eq=&Tp ) for heating my coals (I got it with a low fire silver clay kit). Using one of these on an electrical element might prolong the life of the element.

vendetta_revived
My electric coil is in great shape even after more than half a year's use (twice or more daily), but I do have a cake rack, so I think I am gonna put it over my electric coil when I light my coals, may prolong it's life. And I do like Mush's idea with the vacuum cleaner a lot more to be honest. Easy on the wallet and does the same job!
atalanta
Hmmm cake rack. Hadn't thought of that. Next time I'm at goodwill I'll have to look for one. And a small vac.
