rhineholt
First off, if you're just going to say "Get a PS3", don't bother replying. Okay, so I just rented "Forza 3". It's an amazing game, BUT, it always freezes. In different spots too. That's not the only time its happened either. When GTA IV came out, it would freeze in the SAME spots for that. Anybody have any troubleshooting ideas?

Travis
Is it still under warranty? Id call microsoft.....you may want to start a bowl because its gonna take a while. A13lackFish
sounds like it may be overheating or getting to the soon to be point of the RROD, but i would defiantly recommend a HD pull, an unplug to clear temp cache, and if it continues it could possibly have something to do with your lens being dirty on the drive. and i dont know why anyone would say get a ps3..... 1) best games are on Xbox 360 2) hit games like Final fantasy which use to be exclusive for Sony are now on Xbox? (Other than little big planet which is a horrible amount of fun) 3) ps3 cost? how does a blueray player which is worth around 60-100 now + a game console with less popular games but still 3rd generation come out to 300-400 dollars? im pretty sure an xbox 20gb pro runs around 100-150 used now? 4) online play is weak (yes it comes with wireless so you can connect to the entire population of 4 players on the sony network)

PSU Smoker
warranty lasts 2 years for most problems, depending on when you got your xbox possibly 3 years if you get 3 lights go to xbox.com and then support and enter in all your info and your problem and it should either tell you it under warranty to get it fixed or it will give you a price Edited March 19, 2010 by PSU Smoker

SuburbanSmoker
if your 360 is fucked and is not under warranty any more, u should get another one. the arcades are cheap, just keep your HD. Project natal is going to completely stomp of all other consoles when it finallly comes into mainstream 360 use. nintendo and sony will be the red headed step child that always has its biscuts stolen at dinner. It doesnt come with a hardrive, but it does come with a memory card. Just plug your old hardrive into the new xbox.....and its the same thing. Capt. Morgan
Mine just red ringed earlier this week. Most likely not under warranty anymore and I'm broke so I guess I'm fucked.
A13lackFish
quick fix to it capt. Wrap a blanket around the red ringed system (make sure there is no holes) and turn it on. Wait something like 3 hours after its been overheating itself and restart it... usually the rrod goes away. ill post a video of it soon
A13lackFish
Towel Quick Fix RROD And i also agree, if your console is completly dead, take off the hard drive and buy an arcade console. (on ebay they sell for under 100 usually)
TweakX4
dunno if i'm too late, but if you're still having the problem, make sure it's installed to the hard drive and try clearing the system memory cache. i did that with re5 and it works fine now. liquidglass
if it's not under warrenty FIRST try to fix it yourself before buying a new one. Often you just have to replace the thermal paste. So look up videos and get to fixin
