Californian
Okay guys, all i can get locally are the disgusting diamante quick lights, and some no-name natrual coals, that are very nice, but take far too long to light.Sooo, what are the BEST quick-lite coals around? And where can I buy them? Thanks
Californian
Oh, and one other thing, what is the best way to light the coals completely, so that none of the coating burns off while your smoking?
EliteHookah.com
A lot of people seem to like 3 King's, and they are very inexpensive. The best price is at (I think, unless someone has them on sale): http://www.elitehookah.com/catalog/product...fo.php?cPath=23 &products_id=
mushrat
The best way to make sure they are ready is to not put them on until they are white all over. If you see black, they aren't ready. This will apply to any quicklight.

For the quick lights you will smoke the smoke of the quick coal too.
pimpy
I like the 3 kings large the best, by far. I usually light it by holding it in the tongs under my stove fan (so the whole place doesn't wreak of chemical burn) and use a lighter. I just rotate the tongs so the lighter hits the whole thing. By the time I set it on the shisha, all chem is burned off.
DownZero
I personally use 3 kings QL. I have no problems w/ them and they are easily lit and burn fine. Golden QL are pretty much the same from what I saw. So for QL coals, I would suggest 3 kings or Golden.
Californian
Thanks guys! Placing my order for 100 "three kings" coals. Those oughta last me awhile. And ICRA, I prefer natrual coals, however I take my hookah with me many places, and usually I wont have a way too light them. pimpy
I suggest the 3 Kings large. I ordered 3 Kings once and got large, so I assumed that was standard. Next time I ordered I got small, and was disappointed. So, I tried 3 Queens thinking I screwed up. Alas, I got small once again. I tried one more brand, thinking I was just going crazy, and still small. Finally, I figured out that 3 Kings comes in two sizes. (I think, thanks to this forum)
yashman19
Do you have a picture or link to these diamante quicklights? I'm intrigued, because I was unaware that diamante made quicklights. I do however know of the natural fingers they make, and I use them exclusivly, as do most of the lounges around me.They take a bit to light fully, but once you do leave virtually no odor. Just curious.
aronparsons
As others said, just make sure the quick-lite is ashed all the way around before smoking with it. A little bit of extra heat from a torch speeds the process up ;-)
Sonthert
Ew! Diamante!
Californian
I'm not the most experienced smoker, but I believe they fall under the category of quick lights, They emit a sickening STRONG charcoal smell as they are lighting, and you can taste it a little bit throughout the whole bowl. I'll try to get a pic if I get a chance.
