Question About Nakhla Da

Recommended Posts

My jar of DA has very little smell, and very little taste, even when it's smoking at full-cloud level. Other times when I know I've smoked Nakhla DA (like in the Middle East where I can see the huge cans sitting around) the sweet apple and anise flavor is very present. For those that have it in the jar, does it have a strong smell when you open the lid?

Well I have seen this several times. The jars are super nice and so are the cans but they don't seal back well after you open them. I have had jars and cans dry out quite a bit on me before I noticed this. I put them all in air tight containers now.

Grab some glycerin and put it on the shisha and mix it real well let it sit overnight and then smoke it. Should revitalize it.

The problem is I don't recall it smelling too strongly even when I first opened it.....My jar is almost gone...I'll try on a second

Yeah, mine is pretty dry and just tastes WEAK. I just got back from a week in the UAE and saturday night I saw a guy packing my bowl from a huge can of Nakhla DA and it tasted MUCH stronger. Needless to say most places there use AF and it's incredibly fresh and tasty....

I agree with arcane. even when mine is dried up like an old lady it still tastes fresh. Im not sure if adding more glycerine will bring the flavor back, if it is already smoking fine id be really carefull adding more glycerine as it may dampen the flavor even more so to the point where your smoking DA for smoke and smoke flavor.

OG Apple - Little Anise
Double Apple - Lots of Anize
Mizo Apple - Same as DA, but much wetter.

I have always gotten better smoke out of DA than I have been able to get with the normal apple. Mizo has more glycerin, so the clouds are booming compared to both.

i'm not too sure with AF's Apple, but here's how i rate it...

AF
Bahrani Apple - 50% Red Apple/50% Licorice
Double Apple - 99% Licorice/1%Imaginary Apple Flavor
Eskandarani Apple - 90% Golden(Yellow) Apple/10% Rose

Nakhla
Basha Apple: 60% Slightly overly ripe red apple/40% licorice
Apple: 50% Red Apple/50% Licorice
Eskandarani Apple: 75% Golden Yellow Apple/15% Rose/10% Tartness
Bahrani Apple: 65% Red Apple/35% Licorice
Double Apple: 40% Red Apple/40% Yellow Apple/20% Licorice (when acclimated)

That's interesting you say Nakhla regular apple is more anisey than DA...each time I've had Nak DA it's been very anisey...

try acclimating your DA...the anise flavor mellows out a lot after a few hours...
