Yoner Posted June 15, 2006 Share Posted June 15, 2006 Update: My Mya QT (S-Class) smokes like a champ. A CHAMP. Starts smoking quickly, always pulls smooth, nice and heavy and solid (feels safer and better that way, I don't know why), looks incredible...WOW!. What a fantastic product from MYA. I just ordered another hose and two converters when I have a bunch of friends over, more than a single hoser can do. So the reviews: I've so far tried AF Banana, Coconut, and Al Amir Lemon. First off, Al Amir Lemon = epic. Just a fantastic batch. Flavor was excellent, packed a single bowl in my MYA bowl (sorry Tangiers, I know, I know, I'll get one) and it easily went over an hour. Smoke density was very good and stayed at that level for the entire smoke. This is going into my keeper list. AF Banana: The first batch of AF I've ever tried. However, its been some time since I was in college and now, and I can start to see some differences in the flavor and smoke. This is by far my favorite banana, to be sure, but the AA Lemon has passed it in total quality. The smoke density however still rules the day. Its not perfect banana, but its good. I would give this a 7, or if not sentimental, a 6.5 out of 10. However, still a great. And now, the dissapointment: AF Coconut. Was very pumped to try this out, because I like these types of flavors (Coconut, Capaccino, etc. etc. might have to try out After Nine). However, the tase, YUCH! Didn't taste anything similar to coconut. Instead tasted like chemical with rotten coconut. Smoke density was that of AF, which is very very impressive. However the taste ruins everything. Worst of the 3 I've purchased. This weekend I plan on trying out the Social Smoke exotic blend of Starbuzz. I eagerly anticipate that. I've heard and read some incredible things about Starbuzz, especially on this forum. Next plan of purchase: After Nine, and Starbuzz Vanilla. Maybe some Havanna Peach. cityboyyy Posted June 15, 2006 Share Posted June 15, 2006 can u describe in detail how you set up your qt.... how deep is the valve in the water... how full to you pack the bowl up until .... aluminum foil or screen? and what coals you use and how many at a time ? Bowl: Right under the top of the bowl, even spread, lightly packed. Aluminum foil. 1 big 3 kings. I just recently tried the starbuzz vanilla(probably...2 days ago). The smoke quality was typical Starbuzz(thick and aromatic) but the flavor had me confused. It wasn't a bad flavor by any means, it just didn't jump out at you as vanilla. a few minutes into smoking, the flavor became much more bold but still...strange. My friends and i couldn't quite explain it but the best referance is a "vanilla wafer" or a "vanilla cream". It also had little to no aftertaste, it was bold but than it quickly dissipated. A very mellowing flavor that frankly made the air smell alot like cookies . i'd be interested to see how your smoking experience compares to mine, as it is unique to each individuals. Yoner Posted June 18, 2006 Author Share Posted June 18, 2006 Well, this weekend was a perfect weekend for smoking. Went down to the shore, had a friend's graduation. Took a number of pictures of my baby S-Class QT, smoking away.I tried out the Exotic Social Smoke Blend of Starbuzz. When I smelled it, I could definately smell some mint in it. I don't mind mind at all, so I packed it in. Lit a 3 Kings coal, and....WOW. WOW. Flavor was incredible! Smoked like a lemon/lime/eucalyptus/mint flavor. Smoke quality was incredible. Had some of the puffiest smoke I've ever had, bar none. A single bowl pack in my QT easily went over an hour. I've heard nothing but good things about Starbuzz, and this weekend confirmed everything.I will try and get some pics of me and myself up as soon as possible.Next on the list....1. More Starbuzz (mayhaps Vanilla, definately another bin of Exotic Social Smoke Blend, any other suggestions?)2. Tangiers (I'll have to read up on the reviews, as there seems to be a different way to smoke it, or at least prepare it. Although I'm sure I'm wrong. Again, any suggestions would be great.
