bellydancerakn
So what are the dimensions of the new alien phunnel? Or the mini phunnel? See I want one so bad but I cannot justify spending nearly $30 (incluiding shipping and tax) on a bowl, esspecially when I like none of the colors they have to choose from. So I have recruited a few friends to make me one. I'm also thinking of maybe changing it up a bit if i can without messing it up too much So how tall? How long is the stem? How deep is the bowl? How wide at the bottom of the stem? How thick is the clay on the stem and the bowl? The diameter of the bowl? And any other measurments you think would be useful. Danke Schon!!! mitchard
30 bucks might seem like a lot now, so you might want to just wait until you have to order tobacco to take advantage of the shipping costs. Making a phunnel is a good idea, but it probably wont turn out right. Unless you can get a hold of the same materials and glaze that John/Eric used for these bowls, you might have a difficult time getting the bowl to smoke right. It definitely wont have the same heat retention. Spening a little extra now will probably end up saving you a lot of trouble later on.
bellydancerakn
Yes. But to me 30 is almost a full tank of gas. And my paycheck is usually 350. If I take a way rent, insurance, bills, and other things I usually have 100 to do with whatever i want. So I would like to at least see if my friends could make one first before I cop up 30 bucks for a bowl I won't use that much.

I showed her my vortex and a picture of a phunnal. still waiting for the finished product. I just had her make it half the size of the vortex. Skoozle
I'm sure Eric and John put a lot of time and effort into perfecting their bowls. You're not just getting a $30 lump of dry clay; you are paying for the R&D that went into making a bowl that outperforms other bowls. Do what you want to, but I couldn't bring myself to snatch their dimensions just to save a few bucks. I've seen some cast aluminum phunnels, some glass and some wood and I think it is great to bring something new to the design, but to simply rip them off, not so cool. I understand that $30 means different things to different people, but at least buy the bowl, measure it yourself and then put it in the trades section to get your money back. bellydancerakn
Huh? Oh I just bought a vortex anyways. I'll probably go to a glaze your own pottery dealio and ask if they can make a version of it 1/2 or 1/4 size. Or I'll go to my cousin (semi-famous in the glass blowing world) the glass blower and ask him about it. Then I can get a pink one to match my hookah!
