KeepItSimple
Ok, the acclimation thread is looong, and it's not really answering my questions. So I got some OG Pear and I have left it out and stirred it and what not for going on three days now. When I first got it I pulled some right out and smoked it and it tasted like pear. But I opened the bag again later that day and it smelt like soy sauce. So I started with the acclimation. I mean it smells like pear, but really really strong and kinda dark. It smells a lot like pear chewing tobacco. Maybe with a little more pear than tobacco. I had the new lemon lime and it worked fine for me. Also note that I'm in the same climate as Eric, I live like an hour north. Edited March 29, 2010 by KeepItSimple
Travis
Soooo whats the question?
KeepItSimple
The question is if thats what it's supposed to smell like. No other shisha I have smoked smells like tobacco, but maybe thats what it's supposed to smell like. I mean I can smell the pear, there is just also this tobacco smell to it. And it tastes strong when I smoke it, definitely smokable, but not this great amazing pear taste I would expect.

I never really paid much attention to pear, granted i havent had it in a long time. Ill open my 250g and see if i get the same results..... ill post back in a few hours time. KeepItSimple
Thanks for checking it out with your own batch. Um yea, I mean, it kinda smells like BBQ, like I said it's exactly like Pear Chewing Tobacco. Soooo idk, when I smoke it the taste is like candy pear ish with a undertaste of strong tobacco. [/quote] You need to acclimate it more/correctly. Make sure its in a shallow container and your stir every 30 minutes for four hours. Close it up and wait a day. If it still smells, pack a bowl anyway and try it out. Also make sure you acclimate outside if you smoke out side, or inside if thats where you smoke. I had the same problem and it was fixed with how much I stirred it while acclimating and where I acclimated it. This is how I fixed it, so hopefully it'll work for you too. Travis
Update.... After acclimating it all night it smells fine. No tobacco scent can be detected. All i can say is let it acclimate more and take dizz's advice if you havent already done so.
