Tangiers Mini Phunnel Vs. Hj Alien Mini Phunnel?

Has anyone done a test to see how well the Alien stacks up to the Tangiers Mini?

The mini, like the normal phunnel, has the problem of leaving the lower 1/3 of the tobacco unsmoked for the most part. I know that this would require more smoking, but in a way that kind of defeats the purpose of the mini.

John's mini, in my experience, smokes all the way through, the first phunnel-style bowl I have seen do that. The shallowness of the bowl most definitely plays a role in this. So you end up using ALL of the tobacco in the bowl, not to mention the Alien smokes absolutely superbly.

On top of all that, you can actually get the bowl - and at a reasonable price.

No, I'm looking for comparison of smokeability between the two. Here's my dilemma- I've got an offer for my mini that is pretty high. If I do sell it, I'd get one of John's bowls, and some bug powder. The only two reasons I don't wanna sell it is because Jay (Arcane) really hooked me up on a good deal on it (thanks again Jay), and also because it's such a rare bowl. Right now at this moment I'm not selling it I don't think, mainly because it'd be an insult to Jay, and the rarity. If I ever wanted another Mini it'd be very hard to find again. The Alien I can buy anytime whenever I get the cash.

ya dude, the more i hear about the alien the more i want one bad...especially after seeing mitchard's insane clouds. I smoked out of my mini last night and still had a lot of shisha left in the bottom.

Yeah, the leftover sheesh in the bottom of my mini is always discouraging, but I think I'm gonna hang on to it and just buy the Alien whenever I come across some cash.

I would keep the mini and just save up 20 bucks for the alien.  I'm keeping my mini for its rarity.

For Tangiers:
1) Crown
2) Alien
3) Mini

Everything Else:
1) Alien
2) Crown
3) Mini

Yeah I decided to keep the mini. Trying to work out a way to get the alien. Probably can get it with my paycheck this upcoming Tuesday. Main reason for this thread was not to see if you guys thought I should keep my mini or not but if it is even worth it getting the alien considering I already have the mini. I'm pretty sure I do want it. Just gotta take a look at the finances. This little bowl sounds like a saver for expensive Tangy.

I just ordered one! My gma gave me $50 for easter so I ordered the Alien in arabica brown, 250g of Tangiers bugpowder, and a Tangier's sized windcover in silver.

I plan on doing a comparison of the mini vs. the alien and reporting what I find. This should be interesting. Since I only have one hookah, I'll smoke the mini first with one flavor of sheesh, then clean the hookah, then smoke the alien with the same flavor of sheesh. Using same coal method for both, everything. We'll see how it goes...

Congrats on the purchase man, I'm sure you'll enjoy the alien (I'm def enjoying mine). Haven't opened my Bug Powder yet, I'm thinking once it dries out a little (the weather, not the tangiers) I won't have as much concern/problems with acclimating. Don't want this pricey shisha to go to waste.

Do you normally have acclimation issues up here?
