Tangiers And A Small Air Leak Problem

Recommended Posts

well as i am typing this i am smoking on some tangiers horchata. my problem is i have been smoking for about 10 minutes and its already gotten pretty harsh. im using 2 CH instalight coals across from each other on my small tangiers phunnel. is that too much heat for tang? i packed it pretty tight and am using heavy duty foil. 3 circles of holes in the foil made with a thumb tack. im using my km guru hookah if that makes any difference. also i have noticed that i have a small air leak in the purge valve of the hookah. what can i do to help solve some of my problems? any help is appreciated :D

Replace the ball in the purge with an Airsoft plastic BB. Also, try to clean out the valve a little. Sometime it gets sticky in there and keeps the ball from going back down.

Use a toothpick for the holes if you are doing the rings like that. It will help.

A thumbtack for the holes is too small. Get a wooden kabob stick, or an oyster fork. Poke the holes ALL the way to the bottom. COVER the foil with holes. Like 1mm apart holes, everywhere. Do this over the center too.

Also, I'd cut the CH's in half, and have the 4 1/2's evenly around the bowl. Also, since you're leaking in your purge valve, you're getting air coming in, that's bypassing the bowl, dilluting the smoke, making it thin and harsh.

Also, you say you packed it tight, but is it tangiers tight? Pack it up, and squish it down with the foil to see how far your indentation goes in. Should be almost 2 quarters thick of a indentation, with the tobacco pressing back the foil.
