antouwan
alright. honestly, it kind of pains me to write this, but i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with tang (both lucid and - to a lesser degree - noir) one of, if not the first tangiers lucid flavors i've ever had was horchata; i had it right when the line was launched. it was absolutely amazing. my buddies and i always wanted to smoke it, and for a while that is all we smoked. the next EXTREMELY enjoyable flavor i had from tang was lucid kashmir cherry. i smoked that for like 3 weeks straight and went through about 500g. unfortunately, the subsequent batches of horchata that i had were WAY under par. i had three bags (all from pretty spaced out orders) after the initial 2 that i purchased and none of them lived up to the initial batch that i had. now the same is becoming true for my once beloved k cherry. after i went through the initial half-kilo and it being out of stock for seemingly an eternity, i finally got around to ordering another .5 kilo from john. i also ordered OG horchata for a buddy of mine who lives in San Antonio and has not had any previous acclimation issues. both my BGB and my k cherry refuse to acclimate. after about 3 weeks of trying the 4/20 acclimation style both indoors and a run out doors it isn't budging. the same is true for my buddy with the og horchata. i've gone through my fair share of both lucid and og and have just about completely give up on the noir (after having gone through no less than $150 over the period of a couple years on noir). the pattern is looking to repeat itself with the lucid. needless to say i am at a huge loss at what to do, and at this point, both me and my buddy are severely underwhelmed by our inability to get this stuff going the way it used to. anyone have similar experiences or recommendations? i called eric and he basically told me to continue acclimation and try it outdoors...which i did. i feel like i might as well be sitting on my hands with this stuff. joytron
Stick to Al Fakher! I joke I joke.... I can not really help you although sometimes when I take a break from smoking and get back into it I have some recurring problems, although they kinda fix themselves. I can understand Horchata, I have a batch that tastes considerably different from a friend of mine.

king_lunchb0x
ya im kinda with ya too, my newest batch of horchata did seem a bit different it took 3 days of the 4/20 to get it decent enough to smoke with, it wasn't as full flavored as my previous batches. But i don't want to risk losing the little flavor that's left by acclimating to much. I guess its a decision you are going to have to make, risk getting tang or not. jelatin
Honestly, this has been my opinion on Tangiers for a while, not because I have smoked an overwhelming amount of flavors, but because of the wide variance in people's opinions on the brand. I don't think any other brand is more split in terms of good/bad reviews. Personally I've tried 4 flavors of OG tangiers and gotten mediocre at best results (and yes I have tried every Tangiers_trick_01 for getting it to smoke "right"). And yet the same flavors have gotten rave reviews from people whose opinions I generally trust. The most likely explanation to this (imo) isn't that some people just have a magic acclimation/packing/coal management touch, but rather that Tangiers is an inconsistent brand. boludo
The only recommendation I can give you is to place the tobacco (if you haven't) in a really shallow and large container. Then leave open for one of two day straight, and then do the 4-20 thing. Also, if possible, leave all your windows close at least a day before you start to acclimate, and do not open until after the tobacco is acclimated (to try to avoid changes in humidity). Tangiers if a very difficult tobacco, but if you are lucky enough to acclimate the tobacco well enough, you would probably not find a better smoke. I have found that I need to acclimate lucid for a little bit now, even though technically it is not required (I am not sure if that might be your problem). For some reason, when I first open it, the smell is not as strong as is just to be, but after 4-6 of acclimation, it is perfect.
