Which Is A Better Buy?

I'm thinking of buying a new hookah, should i get the espresso hookah for "good" smoke or an ice chamber hookah for cold smoke?

well, to be honest you're not going to get what you look for with either of those...(you are likely not going to get 'good' smoke from that oversized chinese thing, and the chiller on that KM isn't really going to chill any more than, say, ice in the base). that being said, go with the KM, because that WILL give you good smoke (toss some ice in the base if you want super-chilled smoke for whatever reason).

I'm not thinking of getting that specific ice chamber hookah, i just wanna know if i should get the espresso one or an ice chamber.

In terms of which style to get - the answer is whichever you prefer!!

You can get a crappy ice chamber hookah, and you can get a great one, and the same applies to the other hookah you mentioned. Having an Ice chamber is good if you like chilled smoke, but as antouwan said, it won't make a massive difference - just putting ice in with the water is going to have a very similar effect.

Go with a trusted brand, like Kahlil Mamoon or Mya Saray. There are other good brands too, but these are probably the most mentioned on here. If you're worried about quality, then find a few hookahs you like and post on here - if people all say to avoid one or other its a fair bet they're right. Similarly if they all have a different opinion of which to buy, chances are they're all good quality and you can pick whichever YOU like best.

In terms of where to buy from, the most trusted vendors on this site are probably hookah-shisha.com and hookahjohn.com, but there are many more good sites.

In the end you want to buy a hookah you like the look of and you can get a hookah that'll smoke well in [i]most[/i] designs, so just pick your favourite style and start making a shopping list!

But just to add on to it. If your on here wondering about what hookah to get, then you obviously care enough to put some effort into getting your hookah. My one caution is don't cheap out. Stick with the brands most talked about on here. I trust these people on here 100% when it comes to smoking hookah. Other areas of life not so sure about....haha just kidding

To chime in on top what has already been said, don't bother with the cheap chinese knockoffs. Those things will rust and eventually break. My suggestion is the same as the rest of them, pick up a Khalil Mamoon (KM) or a Mya, I personally own both and I couldn't be happier with my hookahs. I have a km ice chamber....it makes the stem really chilled but I figured the ice I put in the base is what actually makes the smoke even cooler...hence some people say that the ice chamber cant really do much but the ice in the chamber is the last to melt vs the ice in the base. (Ive only smoked 3x my whole life and its my first hookah experience ever...although Im getting another km ice this week...so go fig)

yeah def dont get the chinese. If you want to try some other hookahs why not buy a MYA? You could go with a modern as well but id do some research b4 buying one to see what people say about it. My crystal blue is modern and works great. My friends recently just bought a non-name brand modern hookah as well and it works great, base is a little wobbly due to the shape but otherwise its great

Oh, well then you know the deal then if you already own a KM. I was looking into Magdy Zidan(sp?). They have a lot of nice ones, but check reviews, and they are cheaper. Hookahjohn has some good deals on them right now, and one or two come with a Narbish too.

KM sells ice chambers, you don't have to settle.

Allllll fantastic hookahs (except the tenfut.. Last one in the list. Beware.), And I thhink I saw six or seven with ice chambers. Personally, I dont notice a huge difference between the water in base/chamber debate. But hey, if you want a ice chamber hookah, AND would like to stick with the advice the forum gives, a KM ice chamber pipe is the best call.

I would go Mya or KM, nothing else and wouldn't get an ice chamber and wouldn't spend more then $100.00 that will be a mint hookah like a heart of lion 32" or a tri metal.

The KM will be the better smoking pipe. The ice bucket really doesn't make much difference unless you smoke outside a lot and its pretty warm where you live. The ice chamber will keep the stem from heating up.
