clibinarius
I was going to invite a vegan friend to smoke with me, but noticed in Fusion tobacco honey as an ingredient. I then contacted fakher to ask if they have any products without honey, but they do not. My question is, does anyone know of vegan brands?

joytron
keep in mind that shisha also has glycerin, which could be from an animal product i suppose.
thecoalition
i believe that the glycerin in most shisha is veggie glycerin. could be wrong though - best to ask that from someone like Eric.
Arcane
keep in mind that shisha also has glycerin, which could be from an animal product i suppose.
Jess is right. I tried doing a search and was unable to find out what would be cheaper. Animal or Vegetable...but, I'm thinking whatever is cheaper would be the one companies would most likely use. Or whichever is more available (which seems like vegetable glycerine)... i know for sure (barring any recipe changes) that Tangiers is vegan-friendly....but, i'm not positive of the others. i checked the ingredients of the brands in my stock and Nakhla and Al Fakher say it uses molasses. I'm not sure it's really molasses, at least not the black molasses. although, it could be....i have no proof of either one. The rest of the brands either don't have ingredients listed or use honey. sooooo...bottom line: Tangiers wins again!
Venger
Honey is made in abundance by bees. Farmers never harvest more honey than they should because they want their bees to survive and make more. They are not fed hormones or kept pregnant so they will keep producing, they just keep making it. Also since you aren't actually eating the honey does it still count? thecoalition
hardcore vegans/vegetarians will count it. a friend of mine won't even eat anything that has animal byproduct listed as an ingredient. does wonders for him though since that pretty much limits all main stream candy and sweets, hes in amazing shape and health. Travis
animal glycerin is not human grade, if you look on the bottle it says not for human consumption, so i doubt they use it to mix. On the other hand vegetable glycerin is fine to ingest.
Charley
most vegans are not vegans. vegans refuse to use anything that has animals or animal byproducts or HARMS an animal in its creation. every plant that grows in the ground gets some of its nutrients from animal waste or dead animal bodies. every acre of food grown is home to thousands of animals and millions of insects who are killed or displaced when it is machine harvested. the only way to be a true vegan would be to grow your own food hydroponically indoors in a sealed room where no animals or insects can get in to make a home. Stuie
I think Saalaam is the only one you can classify as pure Vegan. Tangiers... Molasses, no glycerin or honey, if I am correct. It can qualify as well.
