Guest Cheng
I was waiting for my mum to get me some McD'z, big breakfast is sooo yummy. But yes, I have used it and im smoking nak DA now. This coal burner is AMAZING, it lights the coals so fast (cocobricos) I turned it on, and it heated up within a min or two, chucked on 3 lumps and went to pack my bowl, half way through my bowl packing I saw that the underside of the coal was done so I flipped it over and by the time I poked my holes in the foil it was done. I had to unplug it before I finishing poking the holes! I would say this is a worthwhile investment, its quick and does the job proper, everyone should get one. The lady who runs the company is helpful too, she sounded sexy as well lol. Plus the number to call them on is an 0800 number so you can spam them with calls asking where your shit is for free Regular delivery times are 3-5 days, so its all good in da hood

WTF! thats more than the damn item! Edited April 23, 2010 by the_cool
Guest Cheng
I know, its like ebay style, remember the dudes who sell the product for 99p and then the postage was £15? Its just like that I guess. Hot plates on ebay cost around £20 odd for a good one. The way I think of it is that I paid a tenner more and got something that wont break down on me like my useless hot plate. Hot plate = Skoda Coil burner = BMW Which would you invest in? Edit: Found this on my Amazon page. Item(s) Subtotal: £20.99 Postage & Packing: £15.26 So its not £27 for shipping lol. Im goin out now and im running late, cant type no more
the_cool
hmm mine still says 27 quid, 15 sounds much better tbh. I tried ringing them but no one answered, guess they are closed. I will find out whats going on, it cant be 15 pound more to ship to my city, it doesnt make sense!
Guest Cheng
I went to see the item again, the shipping you mentioned is correct, maybe they changed it? I would advice you to call them and find out what the hell is up. £27 for shipping is fucked up. I feel lucky I got mine then lol. Im gonna be using it in a minute, I just got back home and its smoke time
This man speaks the truth! (I don't really think the hole pattern matters, I do my holes with a thumbtack) K-Cherry is a lovely flavor that grows into you. Into grows really quickly though, both the smell and flavor. Btw, as for coil burners, I use a electric coil resistance griller: Similar to this one, not as sophisticated, I bought the cheapest in the store. Mine has only 1500W and it takes 6-9 mins to light cocobricos which is the time I take to make the setup. It cost me only 16€ and for like 23€ or something like that I could have bought the one with 3200W. Just another suggestion to light coals in europe, not as expensive as the coil burner posted above. the_cool
Missed the edit window! i found one! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Clatronic-Black-Indoor-Barbecue-Table/dp/B000A89EFE/ref=pd_sim_sbs_kh_5 that kind of thing right? this seems better because the coals ont be directly on the heatin element and so it wont warp the coils as ppl have said on the forum. Could you do me a hugeee favour? can you take a pic of the coals fully lit on your grill? I wanna see how well the get done, my hot plate doesnt really get em as well done as id like.
Sure, I'll do that the next time I smoke probably tomorrow You can try finding one in www.pixmania.com If I remember correctly that store has some of them but I bought mine in a portuguese store: www.worten.pt I used to have one of those flat hot plates. They suck, they turn automatically off and mine broke after about 3 months of use. It's true that you don't have to put the coal directly on the heating element. You can if you want to, but i personally don't to preserve the equipment. It takes longer than if I did but I use a rusty windcover to speed things up. I would however recommend to buy one with more power than 1500W. I bought the one I have because it was the cheapest ad the smallest one available, but with higher power it would take less time to get the coal ready which would be usefull when you change coals during the session. I have some old starbuzz cans, might make a small hole in the base and put the over the coals to help get em going, a bit like a windcover. thank you for getting the picture for me much appretiated

the_cool
damn cheng thats exactly what i need. I cant get my coals to glow that red, even with a hair dryer, they will burst into flames but them start to get blackish straight away, and when i put it on the bowl they start to go black. thanks for the pic too
Guest Cheng
No probs mate, the indoor bbq thing looks good too, but it looks quite big. Maybe its a worthwhile investment for you as I do understand the hot plate thing, the side where it sits down always stay black for me when I use it. the_cool
do you coals stay red for longer on the bowl after using the coil burner? yeh it is kinda big but i am thinking of leaving in the kitchen. currently my hotplate is in my room, and the ash from when i blowdry it () makes a hell of a mess! ps. just spotted them abu alabed coals, get rid of them!!!! give me bad headaches they do Edited April 24, 2010 by the_cool
Guest Cheng
They stay red throughout, only when they need ashing they aint red, but after the ashing its all good. Yeah I dont use them coals, they gave me a dirty buzz, I had to stop smoking and sleep it off, used once and never again lol. The buzz was similar to a buzz of NHT (the herbal kind). Everything went slow for me, my body felt very heavy, I did not like that one little bit...
