Click
I've had all of the next-gen systems and they all have their merits. I've been using my PS3 a lot lately simply because of the PS3 Media Server. Seriously, I have never had such a pleasant experience streaming movies/tv shows from my computer to my tv, and I've tried everything. It is simply the best option out there right now for media server streaming.
Abso-fucking-lutely! I use this almost every night.
Druthers
PS3; far more exclusives, far better exclusives, virtual guarantee of the most and best exclusives of this console generation. (Suckerpunch: "[We wanted to make Infamous 2 multiplatform. We tried to make Infamous 2 multiplatform. The PS3 is the only system that could handle it.]"). Graphic power, online support, wifi, price tag, blu-ray, none of it really matters. What matters for a gaming system is games. If you really love Halo 1 and Gears of War 1, and want to keep paying $60 every couple of years to play those first games over and over again with higher numbers on the boxes, the PS3 is a bad choice. If you love and prioritize Japanese RPGs full of androgynous whackos and painfully recycled plots, the PS3 is a bad choice. If hate gaming controllers and wish you could use your body parts instead, the PS3 is a bad choice. wpw36
IMHO the PS3 is far superior to the 360. My brother in law purchased his 360 about 3-4 months before i bought my ps3 at this point we both have our respective systems about 2.5 years. About 6 months ago my brother in laws 360 started having disc read errors on games only, it would play movies no issues at all but when it came to a game GOOD LUCK getting it to read. Shortly after we had figured out if we let a movie play for about 5 minutes it would then read the game no problem. Since then it has gotten to the point where he has to leave it on all the time other wise it will not read at all. My ps3 at this time still has absolutely no issues at all. I have never had any kind or errors at all so that is why I say ps3
Cochise
I used to be a violent Sony fangirl...and I admit i have all the next gens, but if I had to pick between PS3 and 360- I'd get rid of the PS3. While I like its stats, there are some things that really bother me about the system: Clipping- there are a lot of popular games, such as Mafia and Bioshock 2 that have a strange saturation and clipping rate. For a machine so powerful, that's unacceptable. Internet- The long month of the network down was unacceptable, they might have given us a few free games, but that hardly makes up for the financial dangers they put a lot of people into (losing THOUSANDS of credit card numbers doesn't deserve the slightest excuse). Sony pushed their internet capacity before it was ready, releasing an unfinished product for consumers which was bound to, and did fail. Also, for someone who remembers the Sony Network 'black boxing'- where the machine would brick from updates- they released a new machine to fix that the PS3 Slim, yet most Sony fans say that's ONLY a MS thing. LOL. Do I love the 360? Eh it works, most of the time. I don't think I need to go through the regular roster of 360 issues. I'll admit I'm more of a Steam fangirl by this point. Both machines just lend itself being garbage. I think these new generations of game systems won't last their generation, yet I'm still playing my segas/nintendoes/ataris from 25 years ago or more... Makes you wonder.
TweakX4
i have one of the current gen systems and used to have another, but i won't mention which ones, because it doesn't matter. honestly it all comes down to which system has the games you want to play. graphics can go either way. sony exclusives have better graphics where cross-platforms tend to favor 360 (not always the case) online is free on the ps3 where you have to pay yearly for a (slightly) more reliable connection motion controls are more expensive on the ps3 but seem to be better drive = bluray vs dvd just look at the gaming catalog for both systems and let that decide for you
SaintPendulous
360 for me, one thing i notice is it seems like all the PS3 people need to let you know why PS3 is better than Xbox...at every single gaming conversation we Got wi fi we got blue ray we got free online play ...........i dont need wi fi because i dont play online and i dont need blue ray.... Anybody else notice this trend? PS3 people feel the need to tell you why their system is so much better than xbox?
Agreed, Click. Most of my Xbox friends are like, "DUDE, MY SYSTEM IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOURS, AND HERE'S WHY...." Even when I'm not even arguing with them, like, I didn't even bring it up. Just when PS3 or Xbox is mentioned, they feel the need to do it. Me and my PS3.... I just say, "Meh, I like my PS3 better." And I don't really feel the need to tell them why I love it more. BECAUSE IT'S LIKE ARGUING POLITICS. Haha.
ChicagoRSX
See around where I live(south burbs of Chicago) Xbox fans are like white Sox fans. They spend more time telling you about why your system or team sucks, more then why they like theirs as well. So I've had the same experience Incubasratm and click have had. I've tried xbox, it just doesn't do anything for me. I enjoy my PS3.
