storm2210
I know its a bit over the top but.. My shisha wasn't tasting right the other day so I took out my pipe and tried it from the valve...and it tasted so much better The same thing happened with my mates shisha...but our pipes seem to be fine I have a nammor pipe...should I be washing it differently? What could I do to get the flavour tasting like it does from the valve?
rhineholt
To me, hitting it straight from the pipe gives it a metallic taste that I hate. If you think the hose is messing up your flavor, run some lemon juice and hot water through it. That'll get out any old flavors. But honestly, if you're not getting good flavor from the hose, youre probably packing it wrong. What tobacco, what pipe, and what coals are you using? fineout
im confused...by pipe do you mean the hookah itself? or do you mean the hose? definately wash it with lemon juice and baking soda then rinse with warm water, you could also try running vodka or rubbing alcohol through but be warned if you do that you may end up messing up the glue on the grommets, i never had a problem though. dizzbizz
Yeah. Clean your hose better or buy a new one.
Arcane
probably your hose....if it's washable, then give it a good cleaning. run water, lemon juice and baking soda through it a few times then rinse it well... if it's not washable, then buy a new one....DO NOT wash a non-washable hose... its true, you can wash any hose....you just won't be able to use all of them afterwards... TheyCallMeDave
I hate the taste of hitting off the hose port. It doesn't seem to be as cool to me, and I think it alters the taste. Alot. I had to resort to that once, when I didn't have a working hose. Terrible time. So obviously, clean out your hose. Also, do you not enjoy the taste because there isnt alot of smoke volume? Is that affecting your judgement on the flavor of the shisha? Just taking a stab in the dark at what the problem might be.
storm2210
I'll try washing out the pipe...I have a mya bambino shisha, smokin af double apple with swift lite coals through a nammor hose. When I smoke through the pipe I'm getting an extremely light taste of the flavour compared to when I smoke through the hose port
Deutsch am Herzen
smoking through the hose port: is that when, say you had a removable downstem, you take that off and completely bypass the water? cause that doesnt seem like it would be all that great. i imagine it being hot
TheyCallMeDave
He's saying that when smoking a hookah normally, hose, downstem and all, the flavour is very light. But by removing the hose from the hose port, and just taking hits directly from the apparatus itself, the smoke becomes much more flavorful. Only modification he has made is removing the hose, and just smoking the hookah, FROM the hookah. I would also make sure that not only is your hose washed well, but this is another thought. Make sure your hose is secure in the hose port, and doesn't contain any leaks of any kind. I know nammors can sometimes be hard to fit into smaller hose ports, or hose ports with narrow grommets. I woudl look into making sure there isn't any kind of leak.
