Metal Coated Clay Bowls?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, sorry about that. My comp lost power in the middle of my posting, and apparently it only submitted the topic.

I'm on the look for a new bowl, and I was wondering if anyone could
tell me about those metal coated clay bowls. (Not the full out steel
bowls). I've read alot of peoples reviews that the metal bowls heat up
too fast, and I wasn't sure if it was the same for the coated ones?

I've got one, and I like it. I get a more complete burn(so to speak). It tends to reflect the heat onto the tobacco. Be careful, it doesn't need as much heat to get the bowl smoking good.

I enjoy just the clay bowl, it allows me to have a good smokeing session and not get a harsh or burnt flavour.  I have used metal bowls in the past and they seem to become harsh much faster than the clay ones

I've never tried using a metal bowl, but it sounds like it could be more efficient in theory. People complain that it burns tobacco too quickly, but there has to be a way to create the proper amount of heat using less coal, right?

macho: cool...i still think that suckers going to get damn hot. The metal is going to get very hot quickly and with a clay core to retain the heat, it may even get hotter that an all metal one....
Definitly let us know how it works out.
