dogfood
I have been putting coal directly on the shisha...want to use foil to help taste and get less undesirable effects. It never works good putting foil on the bowl. I see many videos where people have no problem. What am I doing wrong or what helps to get good smoke when using foil??? twoapplesplease
what tobacco? might just need to use more heat then your used to using when you don't use foil
A13lackFish
it sounds like a heating issue, use more shisha, dont pack the bowl too tight, foil it, poke holes with either the thing on the end of your tongs or a thumbtack (make alot of holes if doing this) and then heat it. joytron
If you get better smoke and flavor with the coals directly on the tobacco, you got some serious problems.

TheyCallMeDave
What tobacco are you smoking man?? That has to smell awful. As said, increase the heat, and make sure your foil is wrapped tight. Also, some people have better results using a metal screen, thats something you could look into. But to smoke shisha without any foil? This is surprising. Make sure you put your foil shiny side down and poke enough holes in the top.

Also before I heard about putting the shiny side down, I used to put the foil whichever way and had little difference from putting it downward. But poking enough holes on top is def a big problem. Making sure you have enough holes is key. That being said, this was probably a troll, this was their only post and yea....thats a pretty bad name haha. Now if this person comes back I'm gonna feel like an ass though sorry.
fineout
i wish this was the last time i had to say this, the shiny and dull side of foil has nothing to do with the way that foil heats anything, its a manufacturing process aftereffect, nothing to do with the specifications of the foil maker. and touching the foil doesnt matter unless you are overheating and arent any good at heat management
