Your "Natural Selection" Stories

Ryno's thread inspired me to share a story that is so true it hurts my head.

Several years ago I was working for a community college, and I was installing some new software on the Library computers. This girl screams and jumps up and runs to the Librarians desk and asked to use the phone.

Being about 4 feet away from the Librarian at the time it wasn't hard to hear...

She clicked on one of those "You're are 1,000 Visitor" pop ups. (Stay with me this is where it gets painful)

I listen as she agrees to this free cruise as she signs up for this and that and gives them her credit card number.

I tried to interrupt her and was abruptly shushed, "I won a cruise, be quiet"

After all that she started walking around like cat that killed a bird, "Can you believe that?" "Has this happened to anyone else?"

Hahah thats great. Wonder how much fun she had when she got her credit card bill. I'll have to think about some stories, I'm sure I have some

I almost posted this story in Ryno's thread after I read about the craigslist one. My wife's friend put her piano up for sale on craigslist. She got that response offering more for the piano than she was asking and also asking her to forward some extra cash to the guy's son in college. Since it was such a good deal, she took the offer and agreed to accept several thousand more than the price of the piano and send the extra to the guy's son. Unfortunately, the bank deposited the guys bogus check into her account and promptly gave her a bank check for the extra money. The piano transaction went through and some guys picked up the piano before the bank called to inform her that the check had bounced and her account was overdrafted by thousands. I honestly don't know how this girl has survived this long.

P.S. I know this starbucks quite well, but it's more infamous for street racers than for sexcapades.

I used to work a an Applebee's years ago.


There was a hot little blonde bartender there who was in college working on a law degree.


We both had a break at the same time one day and I was smoking my Marlboro Light. I went into a coughing fit and almost flipped my chair over backwards.
