Need Help Identifying This Hookah And Finding Out What The Top Looked Like.

Recommended Posts

I'd make a custom stem downstem using about a 1 foot section of copper pipe...somewhere near the centerish you'll need to make some sort of stopper gasket to get a seal..maybee a bunch of various sized grommets but traditionally I think a wrapped piece of wet lienen cloth....wont be real decorative but it should work...or mabe just try stuffing a few medium mya stems in there and make it work...LOL........I rember seing a picture of a simialer style hookah somewhere on the web on a antique site...the base was a ceramic vase but kinda the same idea I'll go hunting for it It'll give me something to surf for...HAHA

Ok i did a search and this is what i could come up with....
Im not going to post the pic here, as it may offend some viewers because their are nude women in the pic (its the only one that looked relatively close, just so happen to have anatomy present), but i will post a link at the bottom of this post.

The pipe on the bottom right of the pic looks pretty close, or at least i think.

Not really having a "stem" but rather a bowl/downstem combo that rests on the beveled top, and goes into the liquid in the vase.

Here's one

Honestly it looks about like I expect it to. I don't think there was actually a whole bunch missing from it. If it's as old as I think it is, it means it was used with tombac which I could conceivably see being slightly stuffed in and then the rim holding the coals on.

As I'm sure you know with how tightly tombac is packed it probably wouldn't have an issue falling through the hole.

it's a 1947 Mya QT.

The good news is that all the current Mya parts are interchangeable with it.

I seen one similar the stem was an undecorated tube that had like a plunger looking end to it that fit into the base there was no ash trey and it had a tombac bowl (flower shaped) on the top made of the same metal (stem and bowl was one piece) not sure if this is the same kind of hookah or not.
oh and the hose was also not a hose but rather a bamboo stick.
