Social Smoke A Little Chemical?

Recommended Posts

When Social Smoke released their new shisha, i bought Potion #9, and Baja Blue. I got the package and the first time i saw it i was like "this is Starbuzz" (similar packaging). Then i opened the containers, smelled the shisha and said, "this is Starbuzz" (good powerful smell). While i was packing the bowl, i saw the difference in the tobacco cut and moisture. I dont know what it is with Social Smoke shisha, but after i smoked each flavor for about 5-8 minutes, I had that chemical taste/feeling in the back of my throat. I kept on going, it got worse and then it gave me some kind of headache. This has never happened to me while smoking any brand out there.
Did any of you guys had that kinda weird chemical feeling? I just want to know if i got a bad batch of their shisha or what!

i got some tiger's blood and while it is good, it does have a bit of a chemical taste to it, but my buddy that i was smoking with said he couldn't taste it and how much he really liked it.

i also got some chai latte from them too, and it doesn't have that taste what-so-ever.

so it could just be something in their fruity stuff...

It might be, i gotta try the other non-fruit flavors and see if i get the same feeling. If i do, then i wont buy it again.

The funny thing is, I got three different flavors, but when I opened them up, I got the same scent: ethanol. This is used as a solvent for flavorings, but I think it was waaaaaaaay overdone in Social Smoke. I tried threee flavors. I gave them a chance, I really did. Never again.

I had the exact problem with Java Plum.Very strong ethanol.the pull is like a big alcohol hit but the exhale has a nice plum taste. Not sure I know how to fix it.Maybe mix it with something.Any ideas on a good mixer for plum?

First, since I have been smoking over 2 years and tried everything on the market worth trying this was the most anticipated new brand I have ever wanted to try. I was expecting this revolutionary shisha and couldn't wait to get it and smoke it. I bought Tigers blood, Potion #9, The Edge, Mango, Baja Blue and lime. I said to myself after deciding on what was going to be the first flavor based on the descriptions on SS's web site that it would be The Edge. First I smelled it and immediately noticed there was a peculiar smell but said ok well I'll taste it and there was not a great fruit flavor imo but a chemical taste, I tried to overlook it and smoke it and honestly put it down after about 10 minutes. The next day, still with hope I tried Potion #9, this is right up my alley according to the description and I immediately noticed a similar odor and smelled them both side by side and it was there, in both, a strange common odor but I said maybe it's me so I started smoking the bowl I prepared and there was that same similar chemical taste. I had to stop within 15 minutes max. Eventually I smoked all of them, even the one that was getting the best reviews Tigers Blood, was I crazy? what is that taste, I can't describe it but it's also a smell in the tobacco. I hated it, I hear people love it, I read so many outstanding reviews and until I read this thread said it's just me but now I know it does exist, I'm not crazy and there is a chemical flavor and smell and to me every flavor had it and I didn't like it and I wont be buying again.
