Happy Cheez Man
greetings, this is my first post on this forum, so I'll start off with a question. Yesterday I bought a hookah and came home and tried it. Everything was going fine until we decided to disassemble it. Long story short, I pulled too hard on the stem and the stopper at the bottom which goes into the vase came off and disappeared into the night. My question is this - Is there a way I can fix this problem?
Glottis
Well, you'd have to buy another stopper. You can use a wet paper towel if you want for the time being, but sites like here sell them for replacement, or get a replacement at a local shop. Happy Cheez Man
thanks for the info. I seriously just got it yesterday and broke it because I appear to be uneducated in the ways of the hookah.
mushrat
As a temporary fix you can wrap the base of the stem in masking tape to the desired thickness... I have that on one of my hookahs, wrapped masking tape around the actually rubber grommet to make it the right thickness....
Glottis
Well, if you are going to use tape, I'd suggest the black electrical tape. It's not likely to split apart and make papery messes in your water like masking tape. It's probably actually a better idea than using a paper towl, anyway. This is a totally common thing, luckily it's not like your hookah is ruined or anything.
EliteHookah.com
Cloth sports tape works really well too. I don't know specifically what it is called, but the kind of tape that you wrap the blade of your hockey stick with works really well.
Sonthert
Black electrical tape is the best. Athletic tape is too tacky and slips, making leaky seals. Masking tape gets damp and tears too easily.
