ahwahoo2006
So my first order of Tangiers should be awaiting me upon my arrival home from work. SO excited. Now I know I should let it sit open for 1-2 hours and make sure my hookah is nice and clean first, but is there anything else I should keep in mind when packing the bowl? (and yes, I did search the forums first, before everyone jumps on me).
Buford
Use half as much coal as you would on any other brand of tobacco. Trust me, it's all you will need (or want). That's one of the most important things to do to have a good bowl of Tangiers - using as much coal as you would on Nakhla, Al Amir, Al Fakher, etc. will only make it unbearably strong and harsh. It doesn't need nearly as much heat as those.
thepyrofish
I didn't have to do anything special to make it work, but I just started and haven't really got into any habits/learned any definite techniques yet. The first bowl didn't work quite right but it was my heat more than anything I believe. Start out easy on the coals and add more if necesary. It's delicate. mushrat
Just keep in mind, this isn't you standard candy Ma'asell..its going to taste STRONG. Smooth...but strong. I smoke mine with a screen and not filled to the top bowl. Most people seem to like it better filled to the top with the foil laying on the Ma'asell...i believe this is the recommended method by Tangiers... Good luck....
