Smoking In A Cooler

ok, i was going to try putting my base in a cooler with ice as apposed to putting ice in the actual base. my base ice usually melts about 20 mins into the session. with all the ice in a cooler, you could add to it when ever without having to take my whole hookah apart.

just wondering if anyone has tried this, and if it even works effectively

I have done this once but went all the way and put ice in the base as well as Ice AND rock salt in a small trashcan around the base. It succeeded in making the smoke much cooler, I wouldn't call it cold. However the trade off is flavor. The loss of flavor that went with the cool smoke was fairly substantial however having only done this once with SB Pink I cant say for certain to what extent it effected the amount of flavor. It is a fun thing to do once or so but waaay to much of a hassle to do for a casual nightly session, however I would recommend giving it a whirl just to spice a session up with your friends.

oh ok. cool. yea, i might have to give it a try. maybe with some tangiers or some other strong flavor. it does seem like it would be a hassle to get together everytime i smoke, but as something different for a change of pace it seems alright from what you said

I've smoked outside at -30f before yep the smoke was super cold

I froze my base into a plastic pumpkin kids trick or treat with once for about a month. It worked out decently I guess, but im not a huge fan of ice in the base anymore...not worth my effort. Anywho, with just putting it in ice u should be ok but if you get too much water in the cooler as well your hookah might begin to float like mine did (was a crap chinese one btw). But yeah, you can do that if you are motivated to do so...

A guy who owns a local hookah bar offer it like that. He say it works well, but I haven't tried it because I love the flavor too much. And I'm not a big fan of cold smoke.

Well I've done it before, but I just used cold water with ice cubes mainly because I was using it as a "coal catcher" rahter than hitting the floor as well as a cooler. I'd recommend it for smoking inside a rented place lol

[font="Century Gothic"]I used Sheecool Hookah which has a plastic vase with some kinda liquid that you can freeze. On top of that I had an ice chamber on it. Smoke was cold and refreshing!

Did something similar this past winter.

Took a 5 Gallon Bucket put in my hookah and packed snow all around it....F@#*( COLD!

Saw someone do it somewhere before, but man that was awesome.
