Bubble Bath And Hookah! The Ultimate Spa Experience!

So i wanted to relax last night, and decided to take a bubble bath. and then it hit me....what could be better than a bubble bath for relaxing? smoking hookah WHILE taking a bubble bath!! it was freakin awesome, but then i noticed that my coals were starting to go black and then they pretty much went out all together [img]http://www.hookahforum.com/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif[/img] . so im thinking that the steam from the bath caused this. its unfortunate too, because it really something i enjoyed and would want to do again but i only got about 20-25 minutes out of it before the coals went dead. i even had a windcover on...any ideas on how to make it work better?

hmm it doesn't really make sense to me that the coals went out because of the steam especially with a windcover. If anything, I'd think they'd make the coals burn hotter since the ambient air is now hotter.

did you try flipping them once the tops turned blackish?

yeah i tried pretty much everything, flipping, ashing, ect....and they just went black. oh yeah, they were CH naturals, btw. never had a problem with them in non-steamy conditions lol

that's the god damn best i smoke in my hot-tub all the time. Outside smoking under the stars in Montana it's great.

Try good coals like CocoNaras! They burn hotter anyways so it may help!

I smoke around my hot tub so I doubt its the steam unless there was a ton that built up. Probably just forgot to flip them coals. A windcover might help too if you don't use one, but some of those CH coals just do that. I think I'm done with them. The way I use them is put 4 halves of coal around a small phunnel and use a windcover for the first 5 minutes or so and then pull it, it usually keeps the CH coals goin for the rest of the session.

yeah it sounds like there's too much moisture in the air the more I think about it.

if you didn't, maybe keep the bathroom fan on... or opening the door should work too.
That does sound very relaxing though. Hope it works better next time around.

If you use a windcover, you have to make sure the holes on the side allow for air to flow through the coals. Some bowls are too high and the holes arent placed where the coals are, and sometimes in areas with less air like indoors rather than outside, the coals die down even if it gets really hot, they start turning black cause they lack air. Then I take off the windcover and they pick up again. Just make sure even with the windcover there is sufficient air, opening the bathroom door, or a window should help

ya, I love bubblebath hookahs...I put in scented salts and bubble stuff in the water, light some candles, put some barry manilow or barry white on the ipod dock, and keep a roll of quicklights handy

I never had a problem with the coals going out though and I have a small confined bathroom...odd

I'm gonna chalk it up to moisture in the air... Try a fan or leave the door open, as suggested above already, and report back...

Try putting the hookah on the floor next time. You get a higher concentration of moisture the higher you go so the lower your hookah is, the better it will be.

Never had a problem with a giant hot tub..you have too much moisture in the air.

I used to smoke hookah in the hot tub all the time it is really relaxing. I have never had a coal just go out like that, but i have had a stupid friend pull the whole hookah into the hot tub with us
