Fumo Design

Well if you're trying to sell these things to us as a forum, we know how to take care of our hookahs. We don't mind putting in 5 minutes of effort in cleaning our hookahs and spending 1/4 the price on them, probably getting the same if not better smoking sessions out of them (from the pictures on the site a hookah that size can only smoke so well). I'm all about having higher end product available to buy, the average smoker might enjoy them and won't mind spending that much on them, but a smoking who knows just a little bit about hookah care would rather spend the money saved on more tobacoo and coals :)

I'm not trying to sell these things on a forum. If you want to conclude things like that you'll also want to note that claiming someone is doing something or is something when there's no real proof is called defamation. I could care less (actually I couldn't) if someone bought one of these. I was asking if anyone's smoked out of a glass mouthpiece before, I don't care about the brand.

If you're looking specifically for glass mouthpieces, look on the vendor review page for crownhookahs. They produced a lot of the first glass-hookah things (mouth pieces bowls hookahs) that I know of.

I personally own one of their bowls, it's amazing. Smoked out of one of his mouth pieces, its really nice, but again, it goes back to the actual hose and whether or not it's washable or un-washable.

BTW -- I don't care if you're trying to sell them or not, just making sure you're not an undercover vendor :P

But yeah, crownhookah reviews will probably give you the most of what you seem to be looking for. But I can say, get a washable hose body to go with it or the residue flavor will be a problem still.

How does glass feel on the teeth? That's my concern. It's obviously harder than wood. Wood gives, glass doesn't. I know many of us, including myself will hold the mouthpiece with our teeth while we do something, like play on a laptop, or phone.

It would probably depend on the weight of the hose if you bite down or not to hold it. I have a friend who breaks wood ends with his teeth, so I wouldn't recommend glass to him for sure.

thats insense. i dunno, i never even thought about using my teeth to hold the hooah. the good thing about the glass tips and washable hoses, their handles are usually long enough to prop them up against your body/lap while on the computer. as far as the teeth thing, i personally never put the tip any further in my mouth than about half way on my bottom lip....

Maybe it's a Jacksonville thing. I go to the hookah bar here all the time and see people holding the hoses with their teeth. They are made of wood, so people bite down on them.

You guys don't have the plastic mouthpieces at the hookah bars? It's just wood hose tips?
That's not very sanitary...

Well, we just started using those. I know.. it wasn't very sanitary. Maybe that's the solution, stick a plastic hose tip into the glass mouthpiece.

Maybe it's just me and my eccentric friends. lol We all use laptops while we smoke.

I don't care for the Casbah, it's tiny. Well, I ordered a hookah form Fumo. I can afford to take a risk with a new design. They're from Boca Raton, FL anyway so it won't take long to get here. Based on the order number, I'd say they've sold 30 of these things so far. That's not even $10K, so you know they're a new tiny company. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. It has to be better than my rusted Mya Diva.

Let us know how that Fumo works out for you. I'm pretty sure you'll be the only guy on the forum to have one.
Yeah, I'll post back when I get it and try it out. I use to do a lot of reviews, so I have a constructive side when it comes to criticism. I've already sent them some suggestions based on what I've seen through pictures. They're a small company, so they are still open to ideas from their customers. It's the bigger companies that don't tend to care about their customers.

Yeah, Im curious about the Fumo's too. I like the modern look but I'm just waiting for the down stems to be longer and for them to have an ash tray..
Yeah, the same things crossed my mind. The lack of an ash tray will kind of be annoying, but it wasn't a show stopper. I can just put a plate next to it and shuffle the ash into it. The down stem design is interesting though, how it locks into the bowl directly. I'm a picky person so we'll see. I was also concerned with the metal coal guard and glass bowl getting too hot and burning the Shisha. It's clear, so it should be easy to prevent the Shisha from touching the metal mesh that holds the coal.

Yeah I'd definitely skip the screen and stick with foil. The down stem is nice, I like how they built the defuser into it but It needs to be longer or else you'll get back splash into the hose. The ashtray is a convenience piece plus it'll prevent messes.

But if you decide to get a Meduse it'll definitely be a conversation piece. Those things are bad ass.

Who knows, I might get a Meduse too. Fumo is new, and they have room to improve their designs. The down stem is easily replaced. It just screws in like everything else. If it causes back splash, the designers at Fumo will be sure to know about it. They told me their working on new base designs similar to what I suggested, so they are obviously coming out with some new stuff here.

Hi,

I ve ordered one of the pod model and i am waiting for it. I ordered it because first reason was i was looking for a hookah which is made from totally glass because all hookahs which i used before has a bad smell sometime later. It doesnt metter if you clean it well or not. But glass never hold the bed smell. when you clean it , it dissapear. I hope that the quality is good, because i paid lots of money for it. the hose is also a reason, its like something else. first, they say that its taste free which is very very important for a hookah. second it is washable. As I said I havent got it yet but i hope that its worth that money. The costumer service is perfect, I ordered it from turkey and because of oversea order they will send me extra bowl, stam and also a hose as a gift. That means i will have double every part. its wonderfull they think of you. As soon as i have it i will write review about it.

if there is someone who have it, could share his toughts about it?

sorry for my bad english.

The Fumo smokes quite well. I would suggest ordering a stainless steel mouthpiece to use instead of the glass one for parties or gathering where the hose end MAY slide off a table or chair. I even like the built in diffuser. They are apparently working on a new top screen/tray design with smaller holes so I simple use both foil and the screen. Silly as it sounds it actually works quite well as the coals never actually TOUCH the foil so you get no tobacco burned to foil issues, yet the screen is just a few mm's above so you still get the heat. I just use my tongs to lift the screen platform off and dump it in my cauldron about as often as I pull the bowl and blow the holes clear on any hookah.

I own the F-4.

Well, it's either the Fumo or I can drop a grand on a Meduse Coralica (Coralica light mono 816 €). The base on it's symmetrical and looks better. That and I like the mouthpiece's on certain Meduse designs. Fumo has similar mouthpieces if they are glass, but Meduse has these metal tips that seem more durable. I don't know anyone who's smoked out of either. I'm just sick of cheap hookahs that retain a residue of taste from previous smokes.
