Store Tobacco - Container Size?

Recommended Posts

I found some Pyrex jars online, but I'm not sure if they are big enough. The biggest jar I found was 6"x6" with a stainless steel lid. Would that work for 100-250g's of typical Shisha?

I'd rather not store my tobacco in the containers they come with since I don't smoke it fast enough.

Just go to walmart and buy yourself some tupperware. I buy them wide and shallow because it makes stirring/packing easier.

This. It's your cheapest and most efficient option. Those Pyrex jars are pricey! But hey... you just threw down a grand for a hookah, so I think you can swing it. :P

Now, to actually answer your question... Yes, that size will be big enough.

Well, the Fumo I bought was $325.00, but yeah, the point still stands. :-)

I'll probably get the jars. I like glass, glass is good.

The taste of Coke from a glass bottle is always a little bit better to me because I feel the plastic imparts some taste to whatever its containing. Having said that I use Kroger Brand Tupperware for my shisha storage but would much prefer glass if it were a little cheaper. So basically if you want glass go for it! The dimensions will be just fine! Edited by Chaz1337

Well, the glass jars aren't too crazy with pricing. The 6"x6" ones are $17.95 each from Pyrex. Considering it's borosilicate glass I can understand the additional cost over what a normal glass jar would be. I've been to a tobacconist shop, and noticed they always store their tobacco in glass jars.

Glass jars do work, but as long as the plastic tupperware has the 5 on it, meaning its polypropylene, it won't absorb any plastic flavor.

Some people like the idea of freshness with sealed glass, and the look definantly isn't comparable...

But for this poor guy, tupperware all the way.
