A Few Noob Questions

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I've been smoking hookah since around my join date here, but I've been gone from the site a while, and stopped smoking for a while, so I've lost any sort of 'touch' I may or may not have once had.

Anyway, I had a few questions.

1. Which is generally regarded as the better bowl? A Tangiers Phunnel or the Super Chief? I already have a Super Chief, should I get a phunnel, too? Which is better for smoking Tangiers shisha?

2. I'm a total noob when it comes to Tangiers. I thought I'd never be interested in it because of the 'work' of acclimating it, but now I'm really starting to get curious. Is there any sort of thread here (or anywhere) that will give me a general rundown of Tangiers shisha? I literally know nothing about it and I've been trying to find all the info here that I can about packing, acclimation, et cetera, but I still feel uncomfortable, like I'm missing something. I don't want to take the plunge until I know what I'm doing.

3. What are some good 'beginner' flavors of Tangiers, typically? I know about the Lucid line, but it sounds like any other washed tobacco line from the sound of it, so I think I'm more interested in the regular Tangiers. Any suggestions?

I think that's about it for now. I hope this thread's ok. I promise I really did search as best as I could for all the answers I was looking for.

I've smoked Noir and Lucid and prefer Lucid simply because there's some flavors of Noir I just can't get acclimated. As for bowls, the Tangiers small phunnel is regarded as the best bowl on the market. I own one and love it. As for which flavors in Noir are easier to deal with, I'm not sure. That's a question for one of the big boys who has smoked more of the flavors than me.

[/quote]either. use both and see which one produces better results for you. stick to whatever works for you consistently.

Probably chat...if there are knowledge people on...they're usually willing to hand out advice on what works for them. Outside of HF, I believe there are some wikis or how-tos available through google. Youtube has a few videos as well.

I'm not sure you can call Tangiers tobacco, Lucid or Noir, like any other tobacco. The run of the mill flavors like Grape, Cherry, Lemon, or Mint are worlds different than your more mainstream brands like Starbuzz or Al Fakher. If you're deadset on Noir, the flavors mentioned will suffice as well.
