Starbuzzz Lemon Mint is gooooooood

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty drunk so excuse any bad typing, but I tried a bowl of Starbuzz Lemonm Mint and it's goood, like a cough drop and a very clean smoke.  I was using my 32 inch MYA, and three kings quick lites.  Smoke was really thick and good tasting.  I'll post a more sober review later.

OK Here's the sober review.  I would be wasting forum space by not putting it in.Setup32" MYA, Egyptian style bowl, Social Smoke Exotic Hose, and a 40mm Three Kings Quick-lite.  My friend who was over showed me his technique for packing the bowl, and it got much better results than my normal method, so I'm probably going to switch to this.  Lots of small holes in the middle, about 5 large around the outside.  Heated the coal till completely red on the bottom, then started pulling.Cut/SmellThe cut is pretty average.  No sticks or stems, very wet, but sprinkles very nicely (it doesn't get in sticky clumps).  The smell is a bit weird, but definitely lemon and mint.  As with all of my starbuzz, the smell is very pronounced and obvious, but Lemon-Mint is just not a flavor you're used to, however you figure it out after a couple whiffs.Initial Smoke and FlavorAgain, using my friends bowl packing and setup, we were getting thick smoke after only two hits, which is excellent.  When the bowl is packed right, the MYA rocks and gives big smooth hits.  The flavor wasnt super pronounced, but I think if it were it wouldn't taste as good.  Instead it's more suttle notes within the smoke that give it a clean and smooth taste and smoke.  Maybe it was just my friends setup, but we had to rotate the coal and make sure to ash it really well otherwise the taste would go harsh after maybe 7-8 hits.  As long as we kept on top of it though, the flavor was good.  Smoke was heavy and thick.  Totally blinding to the smoker.  I hadn't had a bowl this good in a while, so I was super stoked to be getting big thick hits.  Long sick slow flows were easy to come by, and even a small hit rewarded the smoker with thick flavored smoke.  Simply Amazing.LongevityThe flavor lasted quite well, we just had to make sure to ash the coal and move it around to avoid overheating.  I would say starbuzz holds up pretty well with high heat, but you certainly can't torch it.  Overall though, flavor was good to the last hit. After Smoke ReflectionThis bowl was just epic, and to have 4 friends around to share it with was just awesome.  I have been smoking my starbuzz for about two weeks now, but this was the first bowl were all the hype came true.  I love the smoke thickness, but would like to try some of the more common flavors from starbuzz (Apple, Cherry, Melon, etc.) to get a more overall feel for the brand.
