b1989d
So for my birthday my boyfriend sent my this really cool hookah (picture attached) , however the bowl broke in the mail, the base chipped but it is nothing that will affect it. This is my third hookah so I am not a newbie, HOWEVER, it has a threaded bowl. I haven't ever seen a threaded bowl before, I have been looking online and haven't seen one, any help? All I have seen are the bowls with the seals and that will not work with this particular hookah. I also haven't seen hoses that thread into the base before. I have seen so much but am in a whole new world with this one. Any help would be MORE than appreciated, thank you :]
mushrat
After smacking your BF around for getting you a hookah that is going to be impossible to clean and find parts for, can you take pictures of the bowl that broke and where it screws into? I've seen/heard of many a strange hookah but a screw in bowl is new for me I'm afraid.
joytron
sometimes its easier to replace the whole boyfriend.... i mean hookah edit: are you sure you are not talking about the vase?
NitetimeReign
I like the vase design, maybe why he got you this crazy type of hookah. But I gotta go with mush on this, after you pimp slap him over this one, then tell him you love him...lol I think I would ask is it possible if we could get a normal one, cause like mush said that thing screams threads will probably wear out quick and no place to get parts for it. This is new to me as well.

delSol_si
Don't sneeze on it, it might break.
Caila
Did he ship it to you or put your shipping address in and the company sent it to you? If its the company then you should just call and see if they will replace it. Or ask where he bought it and I'm sure they sell the pieces.
b1989d
Well my boyfriend and cousin are stationed in Iraq so they sent me one from there, it was a joint gift since shipping is so expensive, so even if it just sits on a shelf and doesn't get used it will be nice. I mean a $200 Iraqi hookah for like $20 why would I turn that down? It isn't anything extra for cleaning. I am attaching the pictures of the broken bowl. It isn't the vase that broke, it is the bowl. It really isn't anything out of the ordinary, after thinking about it I might be able to get a piece that threads on so I can just get a grommet and regular bowl. twoapplesplease
I'd just find a bowl with a real large bottom opening use a little wet paper towl as a bowl gasket and slap it on there

mushrat
looking closer at the broken bowl picture, is it a Syrian bowl inserted into a threaded collar? an you break away the rest of the bowl leaving the metal part at the bottom and insert a syrian (male) bowl? NitetimeReign
As I was looking at your pic I was thinking as twoapples suggested find a large opening bowl grab a large grommet and call it good. If you don't wanna do the wet paper towls that is.
b1989d
Thanks for all the suggestions because other than the bowl breaking the hookah is amazing and i really wanna use it! So i am gonna try everything until it works! Thank you!!
b1989d
Problem solved! I ended up going around Bellingham looking for a a nipple and bowl for my hookah when i was not having any luck and ran into an owner of a smoke shop who actually custom built me a bowl. He also told me how lucky I was to have my hookah because of the quality. Now that it is all fixed I cannot wait to break it it!
NitetimeReign
Very Nice, glad to hear you got the hookah fixed. I really like the base on that. Happy smoking when you break it in.

Codename067
Now who the F would make something like this? Why go through the hassle? What company sat down and decided that this would be a great product to put out? Anyway. You do NOT need a threaded bowl. Either get a lot of paper towels to wrap around that threaded part and put an Egyptian bowl on it, or use these really thick bowl grommets/gaskets. If thick enough, either one should get the job done.
