mustafabey
I am a traditionalist at heart when it comes to most things. I have seen some awesome hookah vases on eBay, mostly they are too expensive for me and are never listed by people who know hookahs. Measurements are lacking on the critical inner diameter. I have seen some hookahs, too, billed as antique, but mostly they are 60's era brass tourist crap from India. Does anyone know a site that might specialize in this kind of thing? mushrat
alas, no. Besides the lucky find on Ebay or craigslist I've never stumbled on an actual site dealing with antique Hookahs.
bellydancerakn
I would think maybe an auction house that deals with primarily middle easter/indian antiques would be your best bet. And I have no clue where one of these places might be. Maybe check craigslist india or something of the like.
mushrat
ah..didnt event think of that. The problem is that they will probably be expensive as well, but I'm going to check that out myself.
mustafabey
I have run into some guys from India who have websites selling excellent damascus hand forged blades and the like. I've bought some items from them and the quality is awesome.Anyway, there mus be guys in India who still handcraft hookahs. Malabar hookahs were the top of the line, says Wikipedia. Heres a pic.

The good thing about an auction house is you probably aren't going to run into fakes, because the house's name is on the line. Also, easier to insure.
