Hello all - decided to rejoin after being abroad for a couple of years - was in an area that shisha was cheap and plentiful so didn't need to follow - I left when Mushrat was in the planning stages (I think he had pics of the beginnings of his place going), I remember that Tangiers changed his name to Sonthert... I was around when first the copper, then the glass mod came out for the phunnel bowls. I think I still have some pics from that - the phunnel bowls were also relatively new. So that was my timeframe, I would say 2-2.75 years ago, roughly. Came back from abroad, going to grad school soon, don't want to pay through the nose when I can get my own for cheaper.

Forum looks nice! Shiny, ooooo! Any new inventions, innovations, new blockbuster products out since then? Or am I still good to just get a Mya, a Tangiers phunnel, a glass mod (do I still need one of those?), some of that new Tangiers Lucid stuff (let me just get this straight - Tangiers flavor and quality, less to no buzz? Really?) and some coco nara's (look like quality natural coals, I'm done with 3 kings)?

Welcome back, hmm let's see innovations in the last 2-3 years. Well Mya's are still pretty top notch but the big brand around here these days are Khalil Mamoun hookahs, commonly referred to as KM's. Mods are pretty much a thing of the past these days, everyone's big on Tangier's Phunnel bowls packed high and proud with Tangiers/Tangiers Lucid. Coconara's are the reigning coal around here with HookahJohn's coals in a very close second. Wide guage hoses are also a big deal, with the HookahJohn Narbish's being one of the best in the business, there are others out there like the Nammor and the Razan, they all just have slight differences(and I personally think the Narbish looks the best). Other than that not to much has changed around here, members have certainly come and gone and the moderation team has changed drastically, but HF lives on.

Welcome back! Looks like you were here in the very beginning. Right now Myas, Khalil Mamoons, Temsahs, and Al Fakhers are the top hookahs it would seem, and the top hoses are the wide-gauge washables (Nammor, Razan, Narbish), along with the non-washables (Khalil Mamoon, Temsah). Tangiers phunnel bowls are still the best, but HookahJohn made the Alien phunnel, which holds barely any shisha, to satisfy those still looking for the rare Tangiers Mini Phunnel. I personally did not like the Alien and traded it for 500g of Tangiers Lucid Blueberry. I just love my Tang Mini too much. As for shisha Tangiers, Nakhla, and a few other brands are favorites here on the forum. One new thing is the gov is threatening to pass some new tax hike laws that will hurt not only us the consumers but the companies here as well. Everyone's bracing themselves for it. It's gonna be a hell of a ride...

And did you make a new account or something? Forget your old one? Also, you said it was 2-3 years ago since you were last on, but I think Mushy's bar had been around for a while by that point (it's unfortunately closed now due to North Carolina's smoking ban ). Also, I believe Sonthert has been Sonthert way longer than 2-3 years, but I may be mistaken on that. I'm just thinking your time frame might be a little off.

Ah okay, Mush, sorry... It was Sonthert's lounge that I was thinking of... His has been open for around 6 years I believe. Was Eric's name on here really Tangiers before he changed it to Sonthert? Guess he wanted a more personal account instead of a business one?
