thatonethere
Can thee two be mixed without any issues? I'm asking this because I really love Lucid, but I want to increase the buzz. The buzz for OG Tang can be a bit too much, so I was wondering if the two varieties could be mixed so the buzz can be evened out. In case you're wondering about why there are 2 threads on the same subject: I made another thread so I wouldn't thread jack the other one. thatonethere
Before or after acclimating Og Tang? Or does it make a difference.
Arcane
so, if you pack unacclimated tangiers... you're gonna smoke unacclimated tangiers... you're choice...
thatonethere
Whose talking about smoking it before acclimation?????? I meant if I were to mix the two in a tupperware, would the taste be affected during the initial mixing if I decide to mix before acclimating the OG tang. dizzbizz
I think if you mix it and let the blend acclimate you'd get the best results
no longer welcome
I think it's a good idea, I do that with mimon, and not for the buzz. OG just seems like there is more too it, yet, a bit more than I need.
thatonethere
Thanks dizzbizz and HJ for the very informative responses. I will be stocking up on some more OG tang and Lucid. In fact, I got the idea while I was smoking Mimon. I'll definitely be scooping up some more of both varieties to add to my collection.
Arcane
it wouldn't make a difference if you let OG acclimate before or after....you're not actually combining the properties of Noir and Lucid.... unless the flavoring is capable of dissolving the nicotine, the Noir in the mix should still be as susceptible to humidity shock as Noir by itself.....so, my guess is that you'll gain the benefit of less buzz, due to less nicotine in the bowl overall...but lose the humidity shock resistance of pure Lucid.... [/quote] I think Arcane is right. However I still think mixing the two and letting them acclimate together would yield the best results. If its a new pack of OG then acclimate it completely before mixing and let the mix acclimate for 15 minutes. I usually let my OG acclimate before each session, even though I did the 4 hour acclimation when I first got it, just to ensure it'll be a good session. I'll try acclimating the Og tang separately to see what happens when I mix the two since I have already opened up the lucid. On my next batch, I'll acclimate together using the same flavors on the previous batch. If this thread isn't too far gone before I do the experiment, I'll post my findings. thatonethere
All attempts were using the following setup: Setup: OG KM Trimetal-single hose Liquid in base- Water Coals: 3 CH Nats Hose- Narbish Foil: Reynolds HD Bowl: HJ alien mini Update: Since I only had about 100g of OG horchata so I mixed an equal amount of Lucid into the batch. The OG Horchata had already been acclimated prior to mixing. I achieved the desired results with this attempt: a comfortable, non overpowering buzz. With the second attempt, I mixed 250g Lucid Static Starlight with non acclimated OG Static Starlight. I let them both sit forr 4 hrs and I stirred it up, and let it sit for another hr. The batch started out really well, meaning the buzz was comparable to the first attempt, but then the smoke got a little harsh. I took the coals off, purged, and added them slowly, taking puffs in between to make sure I wasn't giving it too much heat. The smoke started to get a bit gross, but I was able to finish the bowl. With this attempt, I figured I would need to aclimate it more probably because I was using more shisha than I used in the first batch. I let the Starlight mix acclimate for longer, stirred before packing and tried again. Everything went well this time. All in all, I don't think there isn't really a difference as long as the mix is acclimated properly. Edited June 9, 2010 by thatonethere
Sonthert
I would suggest, however, keeping them separate and mixing them as you need them. You might want to go hardcore and smoke just Noir or your friend comes over who can't deal with the nicotine. There's no harm in waiting until you pack a bowl to mix them. However, you might decide you wanted to have them separate at some point. Additionally, You might feel the need to increase the amount of Nour to tune it to exactly what you want....or decrease it for that matter.
