Tyler
Take her to dinner then on a night-time helicoptor ride around the city. They're not too expensive but it's something she'll never forget. I did it for my prom date and it was only like $75 for both of us.
delSol_si
If you want a good wine choice, try some Barefoot White Zen...my gf is not big on wine, but she likes that stuff. If you want to be cheap though, you can go with some Arbor Mist Mixed Berry White Zen. Sutter Homes is another good one, but not as good as Barefoot. Also, you could cut some sharp or mild block cheddar cheese up into little cubes to go with the wine.

Arcane
ok...i'm going to be somewhat sincere for a while... i think it really depends on what your gf is into. for example, my mother isn't into that spa stuff or going on a cruise or whatever. for mother's day, we usually get her the obligitory flowers and a card. or some jewelry or whatever else is common. however, i decided to something different the year before i left home. while she was getting ready for work, i snuck a card in her purse. i wrote a little note to her on the card. when she left the house, i said happy mother's day and kissed her on the cheek. she said thanks. around lunch time, she called me crying. she said found the card. i told her, we could take her out to a fancy dinner after she got off work but she said she's already had the best mother's day ever. a few months later, the night before i left, i told my mom goodbye....and hid another card in her purse. and to make it a little bit more special...whenever i came home, i'd hide a card somewhere in the house. somewhere where i know she'll find it eventually...maybe not right away, but someday....and she'll know, even though i'm not around...i'm always home. you should know what your gf likes...what she considers special. if you came home with a dozen roses, a box of chocolates, and a diamond necklace...would she like that more than a single rose and a poem you came up with yourself? some girls like material things...others prefer the simple pleasures....find out what means the most to your gf and expand on that..... or.....you know....porn is cool too. Chreees
That was a good post, Jay. The gf and I write notes to each other on the dry-erase board on the fridge... Think I might need to do a note or something in her purse on our anniversary. Good idea. Well, I asked her what she'd like to do, and she said she wants dinner and a movie. I asked her if she wanted me to cook her a nice meal and treat her like a queen like Ray suggested, but she wants dinner and a movie. For our last anniversary we got a Little Caesar's pizza and went and sat at the park in Jackson, TN and ate, talked, and just took in the surroundings of everything. There was a huge pond with ducks and geese, and no one else was there. It was nice. This year she suggested maybe doing the same before or after the movie, except going to the park here in Murfreesboro which is also part of the Stones River battle grounds. Her and my sister recently went and checked it out and she said it was really neat, so I suppose that's what we'll most likely end up doing. But I'm going to take Jay's and everyone else's advice and do other little sweet things as well, just to make it better and not seem like just any other day. Arcane
you guys can reenact the battle too....bring a cannon.... since you want to do something special for her, you can be nice and let her be the Union.....you have to be the Confederate Army.... sorry buddy....but, firing that cannon ought to be fun! Charley
as some of you know romance is lost on all the women I have dated but here are a few things i did try with them to be romantic. I bribed the station manager at the local radio station to play her favorite song every hour on the hour with a dedication saying this song goes to xxxx from Charley Happy birthday baby I love you. she said it was annoying. I set up a table out in the woods with a cooler with a homemade lasagna inside sitting in the middle placed teke torches all around it and built fire pit out of stones then burried a pipe in the ground that was threaded with cannon fuse that lead up to the torches and then coiled in the fire place (which I had a ton of firestarter in so the fuse would actually lite it all.) then i got her ready to go night fishing (she loved to night fish) were sitting there on the bank of the river middle of the night and i say oh what is this. pick of the other end of the fuse and light it it burns down through the pipe till it comes out the other side and climbs up the torches lighting them and then moves on to the fire pit i built and lights that too all reviling the table in the center with the homemade meal. she said she wanted mcdonalds instead. I sent flowers to her work with an a card that simply read I love you baby I cant wait to see you. she called me and said she had to work over I found her car parked at my friends house she thought they were from him apparently. I woke up early one morning and placed a single rose on my pillow next to her head cooked her breakfast set the table blacked out the windows and light some candles (ring in hand.) she woke up and smacked me in the face saying i was cheating on her. even tho these didnt work for me they might give you a few ideas. Chreees
Jay- very funny man. Charley- If that is all true, what you did for these women, and their reactions... you need to stop dating those kind of women (I have a word in mind but I'm not going to say it out of respect to the women here on the forum). Just means she wasn't the one and you'll soon find the right girl.
Allstar
I don't know if it is to late, but you could always go online and buy here a star (name it after her). Then take her to a fancy dinner or do one yourself. Try to key in on things she likes, foods, candle, background music whatever. Making a woman happy is easy, you just have to pay attention to them, then show that you have done that somehow. You will be fine.
