Chalk up another MYA QT lover!

Recommended Posts

Well, I received my MYA QT Friday, and am absolutely in love.  I ordered it from hookah-shisha.com  , sold there as The Crown.  It has the C-Class stem.
I have read some recent posts with people concerned about the stem-to-bowl connection and grommet.  Well I called in my order to hookah-shisha, because I wanted to make sure that they were selling their QT's with the correct grommets to avoid this issue.  They assured me that they were, and they were absolutely correct.  The QT came with a hose grommet and a stem grommet that fit and seal perfectly.
When I was first looking into getting a new small hookah, I read everyone's ravings about the looks and absolute solid construction of the QT.  Well, I must say, this is something that needs to be seen and handled first-hand in order to appreciate the looks and solid feel of this hookah.
The stem on this little bugger is surprisingly HEAVY.  Heavier than the stem on my friend's 26" Egyptian.    I love how the base of the stem sits over the male connection on the base; a very solid connection.
Well, how does it smoke?  'Great' would be an understatement.  Smokes JUST as good as my 28" syrian Glyph from hookah-shisha, and just as good as any other hookah I've smoked out of (3 of my friends' egyptians)  Smoked 2 bowls last night with it, first was Romman Orange and Romman Melon, and the second was Al Amir Blackberry with just a touch of Al Waha mint.  Using Golden Coals and tin foil.  could NOT be happier.  As sad as it is, my big Glyph probably will only be brought out now in its 2-hose configuration if I have a few friends over.  QT is now my pipe o' choice.
I can't stress enough the rugged feel of the stem.  blows my mind.  I assume that all MYA stems are built that rugged and heavy?   If I ever get a 3rd hookah, it'll be a MYA.  no question about it.
abides im curious to know why are you anti-qt  ? ?
Aesthetic reasons.  Plain and simple.
My idea of hookah is more than just the act of smoking tobacco.  I have a holistic appreciation of the Middle Eastern culture as a whole that brought forth the hookah.  This explains why I prefer to go to shisha cafes that are more tradition-oriented than trend-oriented.  A hole in the wall with Middle Eastern music, decor, artwork, and shisha, is my kind of place.  Since I can't go to Cairo twice a month, I'll settle for having as genuine a slice of it as I can, here in the States.  Accordingly, I very much prefer large, heavy, traditionally designed hookah pipes to "modern" pipes.  Just doesn't float my boat.
But don't worry, it has nothing to do with how the QT smokes, as I think they smoke perfectly well.
