BigWayne
I'm looking to get my 1st hookah. I have only ever smoked in shops using 1 or 2 hose hookahs and I would hate having to pass the hoses around waiting and also had some near misses with the thing almost tipping over due to people pulling the hose or getting it wrapped around the hookah cause they're idiots. I also like to have a lot of parties which is why I'm looking at the 4 hose Nemisis hookah. The design is also hot as I'm looking to get the all black design. My question though is is what are all your opinions on 4 hose hookahs? This one in particular: http://www.hookahhub.com/nemesis-modern-hookah-pipe-27.html it has an auto valve system so it supposedly keeps the air from escaping when a hose isnt being used. Does anyone have this one or any opinions on it? I really cant see myself getting a 1 or 2 hose hookah so I doubt I can be convinced but I am open to opinions on this particular one. Thanks! Arcane
looks like a sahara smoke hookah, which from what i've read and heard from people's opinions, they're not that great.... a four hose would be ok with the autoseal option, however i'm just not a fan of multiple hose hookahs.... if you're insistent on using this hookah for parties, i'd probably get a more solidly built hookah....like a mya. they also have the autoseal function AND are tanks....not to mention, a lot of the myas break down and come with carrying cases so that's another reason to get one... Its the Mya Vortex 3 hose Hookah http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-1771-mya-vortex-3-hose-hookah.html I heard they sell adapters to turn hookahs that are one or 2 hoses into 3/4. Where could I find these at? Also I found this Mya Odessy for $40 less http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-1640-odyssey-mya-hookah-4-hose-hookah.html Any thoughts? I like the black first one but the 2nd one comes with the hose and adapter already and is a bit cheaper.
Lucy Ford
i've had my 2 hose mya odessy for over a year now and i would recommend it especially if you are gonna be having parties with it around.

Its the same company so I would imagine I couldnt go wrong really with either choice its just a matter of design at this point.

Try watching the trades section to see if some turn up for cheap. If you want cheap begineer go with Al Fakher. Nakhla is cheaper still, but it takes some practice to get heat managment right. Tangiers is also good, from what I've heard. But you have to learn acclimation, and packing. Hookahset.com has all of these tobaccos for extremely cheap when compared to other places. Arcane
i like the vortex better than the odysessy...but, both pipes are good....again, choose what looks better to you... since you're just starting out, starbuzz and al fakher are good choices....starbuzz is more forgiving than most other shishas (except nakhla), so you should be able to toss some in a bowl and get somewhat decent sessions....if you're like me though, you'll despise the overwhelming artificial flavors AND the chemical background in every starbuzz flavor... BigWayne
Thanks for all the help guys. Its tremendous. I too like the Vortex over Odeysse. Are these auto seal hookahs though? Description makes no mention of it however some of the reviews on the page says it is. I just want to make sure.

Matto
If you can get a few of your friends to put down a little cash you guys could get a Colossus, we have one at our house and it is awesome.. In my experience it has been the best multiple-hose hookah i've ever smoked from. Breaks down easily and you can even use just half of the stem to make it shorter if you're worried about it getting knocked over by less than sober people.. Just make sure to clean out the auto-seal valves pretty often to avoid buildup which can make them stick. If I bought a 4 hose one, it wouldnt? I mean I dont care, Ill buy the vavles I found them on the same site for like $2-$3 a piece but it'd be nice to not have to spend the extra $12. That Colossus is sick. I saw another Mya around that price that was sick as well. It was a pyramid design.

ih303
Personally, I'm not a fan of multi-hose hookahs. But if you're set on getting one, I think the convertible Myas are the best option. Most people I've met who are looking for a party hookah want it for exactly that - parties. But the reality is, they'll probably end up smoking it by themselves or with a friend more than anything. This generally means plugging ports and sacrificing their purge. It's not like that with the Myas. IMO, the ideal configuration for a Mya party hookah is three autoseal ports and a purge. That setup will accomodate 1-3 hoses without needing any swaps or adjustments. As far as Shish goes, as mentioned before, your best bet is Starbuzz. It's a little more expensive, but most beginner smokers will get the most amount of enjoyment out of it.

Jaypricemann
I've owned the Nemesis. It's not as bad as people think. Just give it a good cleaning often and it works fine. The long stem really cools the smoke down, and it starts quickly. I can't stress how important it is that you clean it regularly!
