Broken Bells

Hey Guys,

I'm going to see Broken Bells on Friday at the 40 watt in Athens, GA. Has anyone ever seen them live? If so, how excited should I be for this show?

Maybe it's odd that I'm going to see a band I've never heard of, but a group of guys that I graduated high school with are going to see Broken Bells, so I'm tagging along. I was thinking about introducing them to hookah that night, too, so I guess even if it's not too good of a show, I'll at least get a good smoke out of the night...

Ha, way to keep positive!

I've never seen them live, nor have I really heard much of their stuff (but thanks--now I have someone new to go through haha). However, the combo of Danger Mouse/James Mercer is awesome. I do know their track "October." I'm gonna say it'll probably be a great show, especially if it's a more intimate setting (I don't know the venue).

As for seeing bands you don't know... that's a really awesome way to get introduced to 'em I think. And hey--isn't that what openers for big bands are for? ha.

Yeah - their live stuff on Youtube is pretty entertaining, but everything's always different live. Just didn't know if anyone had some live concert stories from them. Guess I'll report back after the show.

Please do!! Oh, and if it counts for anything, my friend and coworker who is always on the up-and-up on good music and performances may or may not have mentioned Broken Bells to me before. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I remember him talking to me about the DM/JM combo and saying either they were awesome or he was excited to hear their stuff because the pairing was awesome. Can't wait to see what you think though [:
