I am really digging Romman tobacco at the mo. I'm in the process of bringing in a handful of flavors to el loungo and have been trying a lot of flavors new to me. Seriously, every Romman flavor I've tried recently I've really liked. And that's very strange since I consider myself to be the pickiest smoker I know.

I really like how they don't use coloring. I really like that it's unwashed but not to the point that you have to sit down when you smoke it. I like how their flavors are not super heavy and invasive but more natural tasting. I like their slick packaging. And I like, nay, LOVE the quality of the smoke I get smoking it even out of my alien phunnel.

What I don't like is the price and how, for some reason, a 50g doesn't even fill up a small phunnel. Sometimes the cut is super fine so I don't see how it would ever smoke very well out of anything other than a phunnel. While that's of no consequence to me, it could be a problem in my lounge.

We're adding six flavors to our menu: Summer Crisp, Good Times, Ivory Coast, Blueberry, Raspberry, and Apple - all great renditions, IMHO. I've got some samples of Strawberry, Sweet Start, and Pineapple I'll be smoking this weekend. I'm looking forward to it.

Here's the thing, though. Romman doesn't really come up all that often on this forum. Why?

I have a love/hate relationship with Romman. Good Times is one of my favorite pre-mixes of all times as the mint isn't over powering, it's perfectly present. Sweet Starts is another good flavor that I found to mix well with a strong tart citrus like orange or lemon. The things that I don't like about it are that there are always an excess of stems, and I mean HUGE stems, in every package I buy no matter what the size is. But Romman offers nothing that Starbuzz or Social Smoke does in terms of flavor or clouds and it is almost the same price -- plus it doesn't last as long. The only Romman flavors I would buy over another brand would be Good Times and Sweet Starts (I'm not an Ivory Coast fan), anything else is better elsewhere IMO. Also, I find it weird that you have mentioned a strong buzz from Romman because I never get one, even the smallest one? I also havn't tried any since about Jan.

The two 50g's I got with my QT from H-S, Blueberry and Chocolate Strawberry, were really good. I quite enjoyed them. Price discourages me from ever ordering it, though. Buzz was good, but that was back when I bought my first hookah, so no telling if it'd give me a buzz now... Flavor was really good, and it produced pretty good clouds, considering I was using a Mya bowl at the time. Would I take some for free or at a decent price? Yes. Would I buy it at full retail price? No. Nakhla and Tangiers are the only brands I feel worthy of my money.

I've tried almond and good times. IMO almond was better. Goodtimes tasted like cough drops. But maybe that was just a bad batch. Needless to say i haven't bought any in the last 6 months so i should probably giveit another shot

Romman is leaps and bounds ahead of Starbuzz in every aspect in my opinion. Romman consistently has better smoke, flavor and longevity than a lot of the bowls I smoke. Its a truly great shisha that gets very little love due to it's premium price.

Almost all the reviews from different places I have seen on Romman have been good reviews. I know that there are some flavors that I would like to try, but gotta admit even with my spending the way I do, that price tag looks a little heavy.

yeah, i don't like that the 50g doesn't fill up a small phunnel a lot of the times....i think it's either the cut is so fine, that there's less air pockets than the thicker cuts of other brands....or their tobacco is a heavy water content tobacco, that's there's actually just less tobacco since the water is taking up a lot of the weight...

Romman is a love hate relationship for me as well.

I have had choco strawberry, summer crisp, ivory coast, and good times.

All bought locally for like 6$ a box - which sucks alot....

My local shop sells a 250g tub for like 22.95 + tax.. Sucks the D.

I'll keep trying flavors here and there though.

I really loved the older cut and flavors when it was in the tubs a few years ago...Back then it was really top notch...I would buy it all the time if it was still like that.....since they went to the tins they changed the cut and the flavors were a bit different, but still using the same flavorings I think...The new version is a bit sweeter(too sweet IMO) .....But Romman still is miles ahead of the other jordanian mass produced brands..................The old version was much more traditional and way better IMO

Its the kind of thing i love to smoke very once in while, but would be broke if i smoked it very often. For the price i would usually rather buy tang or nak, but flavors like ivory coast are hard to come by. Wish HJ stocked it.

I asked Adam at Hookah Wholesalers about the cut, and he told me it varies from flavor to flavor. I guess I haven't really seen this yet. I definitely think it is relatively heavy because of how juicy it is. But the juice seems thicker than, say, AF. I don't really see it pooling up in the bottom of the tin like I do with AF.

I tried the Pineapple, Strawberry, and Sweet Start this weekend - all great.

Up until now, I seriously considered SB Pineapple to be the best rendition of that flavor I've tried (which is odd since I'm generally not a fan of SB). But the Romman is completely different. It's a much more subtle yet sweet flavor than the SB. It tastes like ripe pineapple and leaves you with a very pleasant pineapple juice aftertaste.

The Strawberry kind of turned me off when I smelled it. I figured it'd be just like most other strawberry shishas I'd had - too sweet and very artificial. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was great. Just the right amount of flavor with a good balance of subtle and sweet, like the pineapple.

The Sweet Start blew my mind. It smelled exactly like that old-timey wafer candy that comes in that wax paper wrapper and tasted like it too. Still, not too sweet yet sweet enough.

I don't know what they're doing down there or how they get their flavors, but I agree with those who say they're miles ahead of SB flavor-wise. We're going to start carrying them at my lounge, and I want to price it competitively with everything else. I'm thinking $5 for a 50g and $20 for a 250g.

I ordered two flavors from them. Ivory Coast and Summer Crisp. The Ivory Coast was amazing. I mean fucking heavenly.

The Summer Crisp I got tasted like plastic for some reason.

The fact that I got a bad batch makes me very hesitant to buy it, I would hate to spend 20 bucks on another batch that tastes like plastic. So unfortunately I'm probably not going to buy more Romman. Even though I know it's most likely not going to be a bad batch again.
