Can You Really Boil A Bowl?

Recommended Posts

I've heard a while back that people that have a bunch of burn marks around the top edges of there bowl (most of us do) boil there bowl in a pot and all those marks come off. Is this true? I've really been wondering lately and am thinking about doing it if its possible, Thanks for your help. Brandon`

I just use a brillo pad. Works fine for me.

Smells linger in mine, no matter how much brillo and lemon juice and baking soda.

Honestly, I've never been too concerned about bowl ghosting. Sure some smells linger in bowls, but I never notice it. Could just be me, though. :)

i probably wouldn't boil some of the lebanese bowls i have, the 3-compartment bowl, or any other "cheapy" type bowls....

i'm not sure if it'll actually ruin the bowl....but, i'm not willing to risk it either...

Hey, I didn't call you sick. Those are your words; not mine. I wasn't trying to give you a hard time but that was a great one liner that I couldn't pass up. All in good fun, right? Hope you feel better soon.

You guys are so dirty:lol_hitting:

But in all seriousness. I had a lingering smell in my HJ alien mini. I boiled it in the microwave with some lemon juice in the water and the smell was gone.

I plan on doing this with my mod bowl. It really needs it.

never thought of using the microwave, usually i just grab a post fill with water and lemon juice, bring to a boil. plop my bowls in there let them sit for a little, take em out let them cool off a tad so i can grab them, the start scrubbing away with a SOS pad. it really does wonders.
