agunn1231
Ok so a local smoke shop near my apartment is selling a product they just got in called 'hookah cleaner' or 'hookah cleaning product' or something like that. it's used to clean hookahs obviously, and it comes in three different variants. But i was wondering if someone here has tried it. Knows anything about it. The shop owner said it was from a vendor called Hookah Brothers or something along those lines. NitetimeReign
I have tried a varient of this formula from southsmoke. They could have picked a better name for it, let's put it that way. But they also just started carrying the hookah cleaning stuff as well. From my experience it has worked great on my hookahs, I clean hose and all with what would be I think the H series out of that brand.
mitchard
Its probably the "Signature Series" cleaners from SS, or something very similar to it. Just a heads up, total waste. I dont have to use them to know that either haha. There are plenty of household items that will work fine.

The formula at that smoke shop was 10 dollars. kinda pricey for cleaner
Chreees
Just stick to normal household cleaners like Mitch said and you'll be fine. Hookah cleaners are a total marketing gimmick, nothing more. Personally I use lemon juice and baking soda. Cleans my hookah and hose GREAT!

thatonethere
A lot of those cleaners use salt, isopropyl alcohol and coloring. I stick to baking soda and lemon juice for the inside of my hookah and washable hoses.
Cole.
In my experience, homemade cleaning solutions/remedies always work best and damage the least. Momma knows best! Really though, lemon juice and baking soda are very good for cleaning all kinds of things. Hookahs included. And, they're sooo much cheaper! HsK BATES
these cleaners are expenisve however you can re use them over and over again if you make sure to strain out all resin like substances after rinsing hookah out.
ih303
Interestingly enough, I was just talking to one of my business partners about this stuff last night. He's totally hooked on using the Formula... uh... the number of legs a dog has + the number of years in two decades. (I hate the name too) That stuff does work really good. I can't say how it compares to lemon juice and baking soda since I mostly use vinegar at home, but I do like how the salt in it seems to scrub whatever you wash with it. I was talking to Adam the other day from Hookah Wholesalers about a product they have called "Bling". Apparently, it's very similar to the Formula + "the term that shall not be named" stuff, only without the NHT reference name. I think it's actually cheaper too. I'm interested in trying it out next time I place an order with him. Oh, and as far as the The Hookah Cleaner series goes (it's the acronym that's the problem), that stuff is crap. The "T" stuff is just like the stuff I just talked about, the"H" stuff is something similar but not abrasive, and the "C" stuff is windex. It's a scam. They put crap in fancy bottles and mark it up. Long story short, if Bling is cheaper than the other stuff, I could see it being a good product for periodic hookah deep cleaning. But for quick washes, there is much cheaper, more convenient alternatives.
Stuie
I only use cleaners when I have been smoking a hookah for a week or 2 straight and it has a little tobacco ring on the inside. Other wise water and Dawn.
mushrat
lets just use the term april 20th in this case shall we? I tried the stuff to clean some of my hookahs at the bar and it wasn't worth the effort. Now Purple Power on the other hand is pretty good. Or just a good home remedy. agunn1231
Yeah, the guy at the shop recomended both april 20th cleaner, and the formula, i decided against trying either one until i heard what you guys had to say about the stuff. I believe i'm going to stick with my old methods of cleaning
