Todays smoke (and why it was awesome)

Today i went to home depot and bought 20 feet of 1/2 inch inside
diameter vinyl tubing.  I inserted the mouthpiece and endpiece
into the tubing and sealed it with hot glue.  This is the best
hose ever.

I put a small bowl of fumari premium grape on and started
smoking.  It was completely excellent.  With the super-long
hose I coiled up the middle section and SUBMERGED the coils of hose in
a giant bowl of ice and water.  let me tell you guys.  you
think you've had cold smoke?  You havent.  This smoke wasnt
just "not hot" it was COLD! CHILLY! DELICIOUS! 

one of my best smoking expieriences ever.

That's a really good idea!One reason why I like the tubing is that you can get the standard mouthpiece covers and they will usually fit snugly into the end of the tube. This means that you can go wide-style for mass smoke, or put the tip on for some careful flavor aiming.

I did both methods.  Not sure which i like better.  No tip for mass smoke, or tipped.

Yeah, I alternate depending on the flavor. Some flavors are great if you point it right at the tip of your tongue.

Yeah.  I think the super-coldness of the smoke dulled the flavor a bit though...

ive always wondered about making my own hose. i have a nice enough looking cobra, but it is so short! you practically have to hunch over it! maybe if i remove the hose tips and put in a vinyl hose like you did, make it, like, uber long, i could even fabricate some sort of hose cover, like a long tube of crushed velvet and slip the hose through it..... im a frickin genius.

I could have sworn there was a post awhile back where someone said that plastic hose like this gives off fumes that can, well, kill you/make you retarded. I can't remember when or who posted this, and it could have been a completely different material, but I just seem to remember "Home Depot" and "vinyl".

ioan thats true if you are heating the plastic hose. but since the hose is never actually heated, no fumes are present.

And since a hookah hose is never really exposed to heat, I don't see the harm.So until someone tells me differently, I'll keep rockin it

You guys have inspired me. I have an awesome hose I got in Turkey which I use to rinse with water before I knew any better and ruined it. So now I'm gonna cut of the hose and make my own. I'm headin to the hardware store right now. I love a good project. Thanks for the inspiration.
