mustafabey
Will some one please tell this old fart just what is friggin' funny about Ed Hardy? I know he designs tattoos and makes hookahs(not to my taste), but every time I see mention of his name its tongue in cheek.
Josh Hamilton
its not funny at all...I have a clock in my bath and it tells me the approx time asides from that it has a skull and an eagle clawing its eyeballs out. fineout
its tongue and cheek because its associated with the "guido" culture, and everything with ed hardy's name on it is unnecessarily tacky and the fact that its EVERYWHERE annoys people even more. mustafabey
I am not up to todays slang, back in the day Guido was a slur on Italian Americans(generally those with bad taste) Anyway i looked up Ed Hardy on eBay and he has his name on everything! Clothes, shoes, glasses, whatever, even his own brand of Shisha, but checking out Mr Hardy on Wikipedia one sees he truly is an artist in the tattoo theater. i was impressed that studied under both Sailor Jerry and the Japanese masters. The skull with an eagle ripping out its eyeballs would definatly have some appeal

thecoalition
yea mustafabey ed hardy was a famous flash artist but the "ed hardy" brand is not actually his. The designer of all the famous dbag clothes is christian audigier. typically the people who wear it are bros, fratties, and guidos. If you see a fake tan...chances are - hardy apparel is to follow. I was in auto zone the other day and all I saw were Ed Hardy "Love kills slowly" floor mats and windshield visors.
mustafabey
I guess its nice to see that Guido culture is still alive and well. I lived in New York City during the eighties, and while it wasn't a dominant culture, it well in places like Bensonhurst and the jersey shore. reckon Mr. Hardy is laughing all the way to the bank

Bullet
It's just another trend brought upon from reality tv and celebrities. I like some Ed Hardy styles and I'm far from any type of person mentioned above. It's all over everything these days so it's bound to win the "tacky" status since it's freaken in your face almost everywhere you go.

agunn1231
but most of Hardy's designs are stolen from sailor jerry.
mustafabey
In the spirit of science and anthropology I am having Netflix send me all three disks of MTV's The Jersey Shore so I can wallow in the guido culture. I was in Seaside heights back sometime in the late 60' or early seventies, but i was pretty wasted at the time.
