Shipping From Us To Canada

I just placed an order with www.hookah-shisha.com for about $50 in shisha (850g) $150 in a hookah and accessories, and another $50 in shipping. Total order was $250 including shipping. I live in B.C, Canada and H-S is based out of Texas. I expected to pay about $50 in taxes at my door, but somebody just warned me that I could pay several hundred in fees. Has anyone here had experience bringing in some tobacco or tobacco prouduct from the states? What's the deal?

I think the tax rate is something like $30-35 per 250g

It all depends on customs and the method you shipped your package. I have seen people get charged $300 plus dollars for 500g of shisha and people who only get charged $30 and some packages that make it through without any duties at all. so I really don't know how they judge it. I know that isn't very helpful, but hopefully you wont have to pay much I know they are getting really strict on tobacco that comes into canada. We have received a lot of packages back from people who don't want to pay the duties. How did you have it shipped? Usually USPS has the least amount of duties. I think UPS charges their own fees.

i wish you goodluck. hookah-shisha is not recommended for canadian buyers because they will not forge customs forms for you, they will declare everything. if it slips through you might be fine but be prepared to pay quite a bit in customs fees for the tobacco.

buying hookahs and accessories are generally safe everywhere, but when ordering tobacco into canada i suggest www.hookahjohn.com and www.hookahset.com
