I don't understand why erric had to change the size of the bowl. Its a bit decieving when you buy from these places and they don't inform u that the new small shall require more shisha. I probably still would have purchased this but honestly I am really dissapoibted with the size. Its cost me lot of money for a product that I'm let down by. On the plus side, it still smokes great but uses a fair amount of extra shisha.
You have to remember that these are handmade. I've seen smalls the size of my old mini, and I've seen some that are almost as big as my medium. If you want a smaller one, ask the retailer you are buying from to pick out one of the smaller ones.
^^^ This!!! Eric hasn't changed anything they are all handmade so they vary... the only way to tell how old they are is some colors were only out for certain years otherwise... they are pretty much the same. I have 2 smalls that I got years ago... I can drop any 50g pack on the market it in it will be just perfect or I will have a bit of space left. mitchard
The increase in the size is pretty consistent with the entire new batch of bowls from what I have gathered. Yeah, they are handmade and there is variation, but there are no extra big smalls, or extra small smalls here. There are all pretty close to being the same, which on average is MUCH larger than the average size of the batches from the previous years. I believe my old smalls held close to 30g of tangiers, while the new one was in the upper 40g area. No big deal I guess. Hopefully the next batch turns out smaller, because all of these are huge. I dont really care since I have two older smalls and a mini already, but it sucks for people looking for something bigger than an Alien, but smaller than a medium. ...and wtf is a grip? Haha

ukhookah
I've been usoing my new grip tangiers small phunnel, and its smokes awsome. It takes extra shisha compared to me mates old tower small phunnel but I realiseed no big deal for me. I don't mind putting that extra simply cos I get bored of a flavour and don't mind using extra. The stem of the bowl is vertical from each end. The tower on the other hand has no bumps but has a flanged tube where the area that attaches to the hookah is wider than the point right under where the tobacco is placed. IDK it sounds super confusing.

redjako
I've just been reading a post created by another member regarding the new tangiers small phunnel I have used the old small which my friend has and have to say its the best pot I've ever used I have just ordered a small phunnel from hookah john (new design) expecting them to be more or less identical. Has anybody else had the chance to use? Can anyone comment on any differences? I'm really hoping there isn't a noticable difference. its cost a lot of money to have one posted to the uk! Thanks in advance
My Small I got from hookah john is as wide and deeper then my Medium from 2 years ago.
ukhookah
I can understand a slight variation between small sizes however I don't get why the small has been increased so much! I guess only eric could give us an answer. Even then like I said, I would have still purchased the small grip tangiers I have Edited July 13, 2010 by ukhookah
Mr.Frosty
As you can see here from Hookahjon.com even within the same batch sizes vary due to the bowl being handmade like mentioned here before. So I guess it is just normal that some turn out bigger than others or that sometimes the diameters can vary, etc. etc.
