Idea, Has Anyone Done This?

Recommended Posts

So there I am, looking at my small Tangiers funnel, thinking, "Gosh, for a small, it still holds a lot...as we all know" I remember awhile back Scalli had some sort of thing to pop in the bowl to take up some room....then I thought.. "Lay down a few layers of foil in the bottom of the bowl!" It seems so obvious now!

Anyone tried this?

of course, I have a mini on a Fedex Truck on the way from Hookah John so soon this may all prove moot..

i have a scalli mod and it would not leave any room for shisha in my small funnel so think your idea would be the only way to take up room. but thinking of it the whole bowl is heated by your coals so i'm sure the foil would get heated too and give off some weird flavor or add insulation and burn the shit out of your shisha. what i do is just recycle from bowls, the bottom layer is usually not burnt so i mix that up as the bottom layer and put fresh on top, works for me.

In fairness, my last smoke out of it was AF, and it was all cooked to a crunchy black when I was finished...most tobacco besides Tangiers that's true as well...it just seems unnecessary to use so much?

Also, foil on the bottom wouldn't heat anymore than the top foil with coals directly on it, as far as I can tell Edited by Hassouni

For all thw Negative Nancys out there, there was a thread on this a LONG time ago but instead of using it to save shisha he usedit to heat the shisha. He got good results. Never did it myself though.

i did it once and it gave off a terrible taste which vexed me since i mean we use foil on top. but i only tried it once so maybe i screwed somethin up. but the scalli mod is nice. kyle gave me his and i only used it once but its awesome

nope. i just used the bowl a second time instead of tying to figuer out how to use less tobacco. :)

Same here. And I would like to stress the fact that the second or the third or the fourth run are not in any way inferior to the first. Quite often the contrary. Of course I only smoke Tangiers, Nakhla and some Cleopatra and they let me do it. I have heard though that not all brands gave one this possibility. It would be interesting to hear other people's views about there experience in that regard.

Same. I just use the tongs to take off all the burnt stuff and usually at the bottom there's still some good shisha.
