Chreees
Huh, I've never seen anything quite like that. Maybe it was made to resemble a hookah, but is something else? I mean, it has a chain coming out of what would be the hose port...

jorlyfish
Looks like someone gave him a heads up: "Since listing this item a fellow eBayer has written to me to say that it might actually be a silver hookah (also known as nargila, shisha), which is a type of water pipe. He thinks that this particular piece is for decorative purposes only as it looks like the entrance for where the hose should be has a piece of silver rope coming out from the opening?"
mustafabey
Shoot why didn't they just make a hookah then? Even the little piece that fell off looks like a set of tongs.
jorlyfish
Because some people like just looking at hookahs. < /s > I agree that this might be an incense burner... it could (kind of) explain the tongs at least?
agunn1231
hookah shaped insence holder.....sounds reasonable.
Hassouni
i'm betting it was a functional hookah at one point. incense burners are very plain affairs in the middle east, and look nothing like that at all

mustafabey
I noticed holes in the head of the hookah.Now.if it separated somewhere in the middle to place coals and incense, then the holes would let out the smoke. Nowhere does it say it separates and you wouldnt burn incense in the bowl with holes. my guess is its something whipped up for the tourist trade to look like a hookah,
Caila
I am not sure what that is. It doesn't look like you can smoke out of it because the hose is a chain. It might just be for looks or an incense burner makes sense.
