newjacksm
hey guys long time no see!! I have a question with the tracking that usps. I just sold something on Ebay and they live in an apartment, I sent something out USPS first time I have ever sent anything out that way and I think it may be my last. Anyways the tracking confirmation says this... [b]Your item was forwarded to a different address at 11:51 AM on July 6, 2010 in *********, MI *********. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later. On the website for tracking it says that there may have been a mistake with the address and zipcode, I am almost positive there wasn't. Doesn't USPS check this stuff out like UPS before you send out a package? This was to an apartment so they can't tell if I forgot to put down an APT #. Anyone that knows how USPS Tracking works please shed some light on the situation Edited July 7, 2010 by newjacksm
Cp44
it really doesn't work, they dont update it. UPS and Fedex has great tracking details but what I see it was out for delivery and sent back to the PO. Do you know if the package has to be signed? newjacksm
I didn't pay extra for signing, I called USPS for them to give me more details and they said they couldn't for the safety of person. I was so pissed and the person isn't getting back to me whether they got it or not.
porksandwich9113
I'd do an address/phone look-up and leave a message on machine/talk to them. Otherwise mail them a letter. If they are responsible honest people, they might even mail you a letter saying what the hell is this. I've had it happen once before - where I wrote a wrong zip, and some guy ended up 350 dollars in computer parts. 2 Days later, I had a letter in the mail - asking me to call him. So I did, and discovered that I messed up. Anyways, mailed the guy a new shipping label and check for the amount of shipping and he was nice enough to forward on to the real recipient. newjacksm
Just found out the person on Ebay put in the wrong Confirmed address in MF so she messed up not I. Where was it forwarded too? I dont know.... Not my problem. she can dispute it all she wants, I called MF and they said I did everything right and she can't do anything about it. I even called the number she left up on ebay in the confirmed address, it has changed, the woman called me back to let me know I called the wrong number. What a complete mess...
